After months of planning and changing my mind etc I'm really pleased to have pulled it all together finally. The project was for an adaption of the Commands and Colors game rules system (the only rules I play these days!)for the American Revolution using 15mm figures by Peter Pig. Just needs an edging for the hex board which will be done this week and then I'm ready t play. More pics on the blog as usual, here's a few for those who prefer not to follow external links :-) Cheers, Lee. link

They look nice. Good job. I have a quick question about the 15mm AWI figures by Peter Pig. From the bottom of the foot to the top of the head, what is the height of these figure? Ignoring the base and the headgear. |

@ NappyBuff – Not sure of the exact height, but they are close to "true" 15mm, so they go well with other "small" 15mm ranges (eg Frei Korps, Irregular, Essex, and US ranges such as Musket and Jeff Valent). However, to a lesser extent Minifigs, but much more so Blue Moon and Old Glory, the "bigger" ranges will be noticeably taller next to them – Lancashire Games are almost 20mm. Some excellent comparative reviews here, although I think they pre-date the PP range. link |

Absolutely beautiful. You've got me rethinking my AWI project (or adding another one!). What size are the hexes and bases? Is each unit a battalion? |

Thank you chaps
.. I'm rather proud of it myself :-) The laser cut edge sections (half and quarter hexes) should be arriving tomorrow and will finish it off nicely, then I will just need to fix a thin dark wood bead 'frame' to hold everything in place. The whole thing was designed to be portable so that I can carry it upstairs into the spare room where it can be left set up should I wish and safe from our 4 cats who would doubtless see it as a potential bed!

.. it's made to the same dimensions as the C&C boxed game board, using 55mm MDF hexes. I could (and may) expand it to a much larger board for bigger one off games. Bases are 50mm x 35mm and I can just fit 10 figures per base. I guess they represent a small battalion. I intend to make an additional Guards base and rebase the 4 Guard lights in close order as part of the new base.I will continue to add more bases including a couple of bases of light 'bobs'. . I just took the pic below for you, I'd say 'true' 15mm figures. The 'Washington's Army' range is vast. Hope it helps. The image don't really do the castings justice, they have fine angular faces which really jump out once painted. Cheers, Lee.
