A new range from GZG's that have not been done before, they are a generic force of Colonial Defense light infantrymen equipped with low-tech with easily maintained weapons and equipment, they would be great to use as local militia for any number of back water colonial off worlds or even used as mercenaries for Hammers Slammers games, more will be added to this range over the coming months.

They're pretty smashing, I have to say, and you're spot on about the Slammers stuff: There are a dozen forces in the Slammers cannon that they would be absolutely ideal for.

Real nice figures.

I think they can fulfill several forces!

really nice

AWuuuu07 Nov 2013 3:32 a.m. PST

I like them much more than new NSL !!

WJAL2107 Nov 2013 3:51 a.m. PST

Would also work very well as very near future troops.

Steepling his hands and in his best Mr. Burn's voice, "Excellent."

Proof that 'generic' doesn't have to mean 'lack of character'. This latest batch of releases are pretty awesome; the only problems are finding the money to buy a heap of them, and the time to paint the heaps…

Cyclopeus07 Nov 2013 5:41 a.m. PST

Those look great. I like the low tech stuff.

I guess they'll have some anti-tank capability as well?

zonk7607 Nov 2013 6:41 a.m. PST

Yeah, I'm liking these and look forward to seeing some more releases for this range (after some more TW releases of course)…:)

McWong7307 Nov 2013 7:58 a.m. PST

Jon's on fire right now. These and the new NSL are high on my buy list.

Umpapa07 Nov 2013 9:16 a.m. PST

Verrrry nice.

Those PanAfricans are also really cool.

I wonder when we will get NeoJapanese… :)

zonk7607 Nov 2013 9:48 a.m. PST

I like the fact that it appears we'll be getting some non-armored troops to use as Colonial defense or a militia type force.

Very cool!

OK, why am I missing these on his site?

And don't rule out senility on my part.

TheRatGod07 Nov 2013 10:36 a.m. PST

i only see the new nsl

darthfozzywig07 Nov 2013 10:52 a.m. PST

Woah. I really like those!

Logain07 Nov 2013 11:56 a.m. PST

Not out yet. There is a preview on dropship horizon.

I really like them. But, in the good old days GZG infantry squad packs came wih a squad leader and an AT weapon of some sort. Now it seems I have to buy separate AT packs and leader packs. And I have to wait for them to be produced. Not convinced that this is a great step forward.

AVAMANGO07 Nov 2013 12:31 p.m. PST

For some reason the new Pan-African troops remind me of modern day or near future tank crew, maybe its because they all have their sleeves rolled up and the style of their helmets. But the Colonial Defense Forces will be on my 'to get' list i think they would make good Hammer Slammers mercenaries and look great alone side a few of the Brigade models Shaman hover tank that i am hoping will be available pretty soon. I was thinking the exact thing about the PAU.
Near future IDF tankers perhaps?

Redroom07 Nov 2013 7:15 p.m. PST

Pretty cool minis

Sundance07 Nov 2013 8:14 p.m. PST

The colonial types would make great Star Wars rebel forces.

These new figs aren't released yet on the site but will be shortly.

The reason for offering the squad support separately is that not everybody plays with their squads in the same configuration. For different sized squads or squad make-ups, this gives you much greater control by changing how many of which pack you buy.

It would be sensational to see CDF and PAU crews for the towed guns GZG offers, would seem to fit with their lower tech status.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian07 Nov 2013 10:54 p.m. PST

I don't know which I like better, the PAU or the CDF troops! Thats aid, I agree with McWong73; gun crews for the towed artillery and AT guns would be a perfect addition for each given the relatively low tech base of these two factions… outstanding!evil grin

Leland and McWong make good points. I wonder, if all those separate crews would simply be too onerous, if there's a possibility of a generic crew in generic light armour with swapable heads? I'm not a big fan of separate heads in 15mm but – as the crew probably aren't going to be carrying weapons beyond, say, a pistol* – that route might give the variation people might need.

I mean, it's (to some extent) like tank crews: in 15mm if all you've got is a guy with his head and shoulders poking out of a hatch, then – beyond a different comms helmet – one set of coveralls with a piece of light body armour looks a lot like every one else's

Just a thought

John T

* with the generic gun crews a stack of specific rifles leaning against ammo crates to go with the unique head sets might look good

McWong7308 Nov 2013 3:47 a.m. PST

Jeez John, make us work for it why don't ya.

John, consider this item stolen by me. Though I will need to use generic "modernish" rifles.

Thanks,

Pat

Hmm, I wonder if I can convince Jon to sculpt some of the PAU with bush hats? They'd make great OUDF or NAC Ghurkas too.

I was also looking at the CDF, they'd be great for representing Browncoats from Firefly.

According to Dropship Horizon, there are some versions with 'jungle caps' on the way – don't know if that's what you had in mind?

The colonial types would make great Star Wars rebel forces.

I was also looking at the CDF, they'd be great for representing Browncoats from Firefly.

Again, from DH, there are some versions coming with field caps instead of helmets, so we might be able to add 'human resistance from Terminator II' to that list. (Although I was thinking more of the Alliance troops from The Train Job than Browncoats. Which I guess makes them suitable proxies for the film versions of the Mobile Infantry from Starship Troopers as well… :D )

So many uses!

Any guys w binoculars? :)

Wolfprophet09 Nov 2013 8:38 a.m. PST

I really love the quality of the new sculpts… makes me really want to start doing something with my 15s again and add some stuff to them.
