Having trouble printing the models….I place the printer on Actual Size, and when it prints it cuts off the ends…..If I scale it back to fit on the page it is much smaller than 28mm scale….Any suggestions?

It seems that if I could remove the margins it would print fine, but it is a PDF, so it is not letting me adjust the margins….

Have you contacted them about this issue?

It about a year since I printed mine out, no problems with A4 paper. I think there are printing tips on the website.

It's your printer. Let me guess… The paper is drawn from underneath instead of a top loading paper hold? You printer might not be capable of printing on that section of paper and it just cuts it off. Bottom loading printers need a small section of paper to grab onto and pull from. I had one like that and it was frustrating.

If you have access to Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign, you can "Place" the PDF as a graphic. The page margins can then be modified in Illustrator or InDesign. It won't resolve the imageable-area problem CorSecEng identified, but it can resolve problems with excessive margins in the digital files.

I have not contacted Eric, as in the past he is very hard to get in touch with…..

CorSecEng, no it is a top feeding printer….I am wondering if I set the printer for A4 paper, but use standard 8.5 x 11 if it would print full size…. It says on his site that it should work with either paper size, but obviously not…

Unfortunately I only have Adobe Reader…..

I haven't printed Whitewash products, but I suspect you are looking for "borderless printing." Most modern printers can do it even when pulling from a paper tray.

See if you can set your printer to borderless printing using the manufacturer's software before you print the PDF.

If you have trouble, Google your printer name and "borderless printing."

Check the print settings – US letter and A4 are different sizes. I had a similar issue with the Whitewash city freebies that they had available – changed settings and they printed out perfectly.

I never had any problem printing them myself so don't know what to tell you.

Try this:

Under scaling you should select "None."

Check the box that says, "Auto rotate and center."

Uncheck "Chose paper source by pdf size."

Hopefully that will do it.

"I have not contacted Eric, as in the past he is very hard to get in touch with…"

Yes, you have contacted me. I responded twice yesterday on the Whitewash City discussion group on Yahoo. It is probably your printer. I haven't heard of an issue from someone regarding printing in almost 4 years now. You can also try to download the latest drivers for your printer as well -- I do this periodically myself.

Eric, I didn't mean to offend, but I tried contacting you on a non-related issue about a year ago based on your mats, and contact was spotty and difficult. I admit you jumped all over this issue and tried to help….I know you were going through some life issues at that time, apparently you have sorted those out….

So for the record, Eric has tried very hard to help on this issue, and I falsely judged him for a previous issue…I hope there is no hard feelings.

I think I have figured out the problem and it is on my end. My printer does not support "Boarderless Printing" thus no matter what I do it will cut off the end….I don't think there is much I can do besides use the "Fit to Page" or get a new printer…which stinks….

Thank you for your note -- its appreciated.

Although I own 3 HP printers, I run Mac OS and therefore cannot replicate your problem on my end. Still, you should try to look up your printer drivers at HP Online to see if there is a newer version available. When I bought my new printer 8 months ago I was surprised the printer driver was already out of date. With one of my older HP printers, one of the corrections was resizing the print area.
