Maybe you should place the cartridge boxes a bit lower so you have a distance between back pack and box.
They are almost as high as the hip, difficult to reach with the arm when trying to get cartridges out.

You must immagine that the soldiers has to grap to the rearand get one cartridge out, so I would do it a bit lower

Sho, I had no plans to start another nation while working on my Austrian army, but I will try and buy as many of your figures as I can. Well done, and thank you for the effort.

Colin, beside generals, I do only russian infantry for Borodino, because AB ones are for later period and all other troops are covered by AB. May be I must sculpt hussars with hanging pelisses too. And thats probably all.

I myself build all french army and his oponents for Wagram, Borodino and Waterloo. For Austrian army I will sculpt helmeted infantry and standing hussars. All other austrians are already painted.

For my infantry I have requirement – 3 figures must stand on block 2cm x 1cm and represent on battlefield 1.200 men in line.

P.S. If you want try all my figures, then some Prussian Towarczys 1806 are available now. My first 18mm sculpted ones for napoleonic.

This is some fine work on your borodino Russians. So they have the earlier shako and regular uniform similar to the Perry 28mm option. Will you no doubt be doing officers, drummer etc. Perhaps a mounted officer?

Yes, Paul. They have regular 1808 shako and uniform. Standard for 1809-1815.
As I try keep it similar and comparable with AB ones, then equiptment are little overscaled.

Officers and drummers are not my primary concern now, because at first I make figures for standard rules. But in deluxe version of rules there will be 1 officer, 1 drummer, 1-2 flagbearers, 2 skirmishers and 2 casualties for every basic unit. As markers.

Mounted officers at first will be as attendants to generals.

Well hopefully you'll get round to the command for larger battalions.

Agree. Fine till the knees. Tibia and fibula do not quite match the femur (at least on his right standing leg anyway)…but I wish I had a fraction of your modelling talent

These are looking really good, Sho. I'm surprised you aren't being approached by one of the mini companies to do their sculpts.

I'm just at this moment trying to work up the courage to paint one of your Murat figures. Can't decide which one to go for first.

It's because nobody know about me. This is my first few sculpts. Everybody of them are learning process.

If you cannot choice Murat, paint Ney, the one with sword.. ;-)
Ney is not so valuable for practice, his right hand stand little weird.

Von Winterfeldt, at starting from scratch this probably will be the best strategy. Everybody will be happy, win-win situation.

Eclipsing Binaries, the one with long boots and sword – universal general. Murat usually wear sabre and soft boots.

Next infantryman ready..
They are a bit grotesque.

The cause is most likley the too short lower legs or the legs allthogether are a bit too short.
You may review your dollies and change that part for future figures

Don't agree. I think, that the head is too big and heavy and on too high position.
Body height and equiptment length is 1:100, Widening, head and details are 1:70.

I cannot agree, when you compare with AB side to side, the details – equipment and head size look quite ok, the lower legs seem to be a fraction too short, which of course in that scale has a dramatic effect.
So all in all the body is a tad too tall and the legs a bit too short, the rest is ok in my view

I will prepare new dolls.

Third private ready.

Rather than trying to sort the length of the legs on new dolls, would it be possible to try and raise the crotch to give the legs a little more length? I'd like to see the finished models next to comparable miniatures before judging them further.

I finish the officer at first and then make new comparable picture with AB figures.

New dolls are necessary anyway. For comparing with AB figures I must follow 1:90 scale, not 1:100 as I planned before.

Hi Sho, Von W, I don't like to take away from the fact that sho has sculpted excellent figures but I think you are both right.

sho the head of the middle marching figure looks slightly to large in some angles and also in the line up. to my eye the torso Looks a little short and slender for the 1st 2 figs regarding equipment and head and makes the legs hard to judge.

However the officer and the guy with arm across look great and all far better than I could do myself. Keep going sho as every effort brings a better success!

Take away Mr Bartons range and you have something close to the best Russians around. Like you I paint a few of AB figures sho and you pick up little details like the size of hands, sharpness of detail such as shako visor, edges and packs.

Hope you don't mind me adding my thoughts sho, great efforts in all!

Now I learned, how to cutt off excess materials after sculpting. Big heads and noses now are little smaller.

I Like the addition touch with cords over the top, I'll buy em!!

I like your heads and noses and even more – your equipment, it is superb.
I think when getting those masters cast – the cast figures will look excellent.
It clearly shows that you are into the topic and that you have a keen eye for detail
