We did a 15mm Caesarian Roman vs Ancient Britons last night

The rules used were Battles for Empire 2 – a colonial set covering the period 1870 – 1914

The write up with loads of photos is on my blog link

There were a few adjustments to the rules but nothing major

BFE wouldn't be suitable for all ancient gaming but it handled this game reasonably well

An interesting posting. Seems bizarre to use a colonial set for this period but with limited troop types and the 'regular vs. irregular' dynamic at play, perhaps less of a stretch than it appears. Thanks for the post.

Enjoyable read and nice layout and pictures. Good demonstration of trying out of period rules.
