I admire the work that went into it, but isn't that far too many countries? Not sure what situation would lead to the world being so divided.

I think it is mostly provinces – the colours being the countries/empires.

New Zealand is missing. I realise that you chose to follow the original RISK board, but it should be there- because it enables a flank attack on Australia.

And if you have the North and South islands of NZ, you can even have fighting on the islands!

Not bad, but the Atlantic Ocean is a bit too narrow.
