Wow! 6mm Quar!
I would be very interested in them.

leidang28 Oct 2013 1:24 p.m. PST

The first looks like a KV-2 and a Churchill had a baby. The second looks like a Goliath with a souped up, hot rod tail pipe.

Gaz004528 Oct 2013 1:58 p.m. PST

Construction equipment conversion fodder! Great!

MrAverage28 Oct 2013 11:14 p.m. PST

You just became my personal hero.

I love my Quar 28's dearly, and adding 6's to the collection is just phenomenal. I love it. You are amazing!

headzombie29 Oct 2013 8:23 a.m. PST

Great models , look forward to 6mm .

headzombie29 Oct 2013 4:15 p.m. PST

What rules would you guys use for 6mm quar? Trying to decide if we should do our own or not.

Baron Trapdoor29 Oct 2013 4:26 p.m. PST

Josh can TQW be adapted for 6mm or is it a far stretch?

headzombie29 Oct 2013 4:37 p.m. PST

It could but wouldn't easily scale to mass battles. You could have a couple vehicles per side and thats it as anything more would get cumbersome. However playing TQW on a 2x2 would be fun!

Baron Trapdoor29 Oct 2013 5:53 p.m. PST

Ok sounds like we need an EA derivative or something akin!

MrAverage29 Oct 2013 6:03 p.m. PST

All else equal, and assuming there were no TQW mass combat game of its own, Future War Commander would be a good one to use, I think. It'd take a little modding but it could handle the mass battles. For smaller scale actions, company-sized, some port of Dirtside might work.

But of course, a native Quar mass combat system would be awesome too. I would like to see it work for large armies, personally – like the old Space Marine game from way back when. I was especially fond of the Unit Cards from the original game, whcih made putting together a big force very easy and visually was simple to follow. Scalewise, in my ideal game-world, I would like a system that ran Catrawd-verus-Catrawd or more. That would be my ideal, personally – not sure how others would like it, but I would, at least. Part of the fun of the smaller scales is being able to run earth-shattering, history-making battles. Like, staging combats that would change the course of the War.

I would also like to see aircraft make an appearance. But this is all just daydreaming – I don't mean to get ahead of things, honestly.

Aircraft will be landing in 15 and 28 in the next few months so no reason not to do it in 6 as well! In fact 6 will let me do some of the larger aircraft.

MrAverage29 Oct 2013 6:56 p.m. PST

I love it. You literally made my day! If I can do anything to advance the cause, my brush, my pen, and my graphic arts training are at your disposal!

6mm Quar would work with a number gaming rules out there … GW Epic, FWC, The Crucible, Strike Legion, DRM Seeds of War etc., etc. …

headzombie30 Oct 2013 4:47 p.m. PST

Work progresses. These are actually a lot of fun to do. I think we'll dive into 6mm full bore. (Don't worry 15s and 28s will go strong as well. Already a lot of that that needs to cycle through the pipeline.)

I have no idea why this image comes in rotated here.

Panzer Group Quar !!!!

MrAverage31 Oct 2013 10:00 a.m. PST

Profoundly awesome. I can already imagine the desperate and gallant Cadier charge across No-Quar's Land sent to stop them.

Alykinder's Cambrai.

By the way, I like the sound of "full bore." I know you won't neglect the other ranges, but I'm just such a huge fan of the scale that 6mm anything is exciting to me.

Bashytubits31 Oct 2013 8:13 p.m. PST

I am so tempted by 6mm quar. Now I can afford to do BIG battles when they are ready.

cloudcaptain09 Jan 2014 9:43 p.m. PST

If the Quar are only 3 feet tall-ish…are these figures basically the same size as 3mm humans? Didn't see this asked or answered elsewhere.

headzombie10 Jan 2014 12:10 p.m. PST

We did them at 5mm's tall. That way they scale to each other and still fit in with 6mm humans. Just a little bigger than they would be in the 'real' world. At 3mm they'd be little blobs!

cloudcaptain10 Jan 2014 1:02 p.m. PST

Thanks HZ…I will use them as tall aliens in 3mm :)

Covert Walrus10 Jan 2014 4:06 p.m. PST

This looks better every day! Good to hear some 6mm stuff is progressing :)

Johny Boy13 Jan 2014 3:40 p.m. PST

Sceptical at first but it's growing in me, liking the sound of aircraft, how big will infantry be as Quar strike me as being slightly smaller than human, so 6mm would make them about 4-5mm, tiny. Or are we saying the Quar figs will be 6 regardless. Personally I like the slightly larger scale of say Adler figs, but hey it all looks and sounds great

headzombie13 Jan 2014 3:51 p.m. PST

The quar are 6's regardless. bad pictures here: link

Going to try and reshoot them. 6s are hard to photo!

Lion in the Stars13 Jan 2014 6:56 p.m. PST

I'm thrilled to hear about more 15mm Quar, especially vehicles and aircraft!

I'm trying NOT to add any new scales to the leadpile.

headzombie13 Jan 2014 9:27 p.m. PST

Lion, scroll down a little here:

Elenderil25 Jan 2014 12:51 p.m. PST
