I imagine this has been done, but my google-fu is not working too well. Having downloaded and read the SBH book, it seems pretty straightforward to do. I really am just using Privateer press models and have no particular desire to recreate the setting or mechanics.

A few questions, however, do arise:

1. How to handle warmachines? I have seen reference to a beast master type special rule. I would imagine that could be readily used for the machines and just make them artificial. Which book has this rule?

2. How effective is the use of commanders and subcommanders? It seems it would be a good way to handle a "unit" of soldiers.

3. Any additional books in the Ganesha Games line that are recommended for making effective use of the warmachine/hordes miniatures.

4. Someone have a resource where this is already addressed? :)

Thanks!

I thinks some of the ideas in Mighty Monsters might be usefull for the Warjacks.

1. Warmachines can be accomplished via creative application of special rules. Abilities like Big, Huge, Dashing, Poison and others can properly emulate what warjacks do on the battlefield.

2. I'd recommend just throwing the squad coherency rules out the window and just running a bunch of Iron Fang Pikemen as just a group of individuals, rather than a squad. The game is really all about single combat after all.

3-4. Sign up for the songofblades yahoo group and you will doubtless find answers to all your questions! The SBH author is very active on this list.

Here is the last time it was discussed here (Feb. 2013):

I summarize some of the discussion on this topic, but to address some of your other questions

1. If you are not interested in emulating the systems of Warmachine, I would handle warjacks like any other figure, most would be big and artificial, with heavy armor also common and other abilities depending on how you want to model them. Beastmaster is in Song of Wind and Water.

2. leaders are very useful, but not needed. It depends on the troops they would be commanding. Squads as such don't exist in SBH, but it can be useful to keep figures in groups so they can support each other.

Great! Thanks for the information and advice. It seems the yahoo group is the place to go!
