Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you guys know that soon i'll be running a pre-order for:
The Raven-Class Medium Assault VTOL (Note this is a WIP picture, I will have a finished picture soon.) Ramp in back opens and the front has a minigun. It's about twice as long as the Sparrowhawk. Designed to carry six in the back compartment.
The Sparrowhawk-Class Light Assault VTOL Note: the Figures are for scale only. I will be making seated Hell Divers at a later time. As soon as I ship out the remainder of my Hell Diver pre-orders ship (finishing up the International Orders tonight) I hope to have the pre-orders up within the week. As always, I'd love to hear any comments you have! Thanks, Harold |

Those look really great! Would love to see the little one with an option for more weapons on the sides of the fuselage, instead of the troops, in order to make it a support gunship, e.g. A/T missiles, rocket pods, etc. Looking forward to size and pricing info, especially for the larger craft. |

Thanks! And yes, that is definitely going to be an option for the Sparrowhawk. |

that is screamin' for a seated sniper team! Looking forward to seeing this developed! |

Bought three pods, liked them and bought enough helldivers to fit in them. This time I order the vtol's and the troops at the same time! |

I am totally in for a few- 15mm SF needs more air support! |
MrHarold | 23 Oct 2013 11:05 a.m. PST |
Ill be putting up a deal too that includes the hell divers and the vtols. |
Covert Walrus | 23 Oct 2013 11:36 a.m. PST |
Damn! Those would be useful in 6mm as well . . . |

Some landing gear options would be good. Like the designs a lot. |
MrHarold | 23 Oct 2013 3:14 p.m. PST |
The designs have Landing gear that can be modeled in the up or down position. |

The Raven is very nice. Would be even better in a larger size. |

Dear Mr Harold With Raven like the hull, but the wing would look better as a high mounted one, going across top of hull where the bulge is (looks like it belong there) For the Sparrowhawk like the hull, think the wing could be greater span. For carrying the trooper outside, personally believe would not work (looks a bit silly myself), the troops would greatly effect the aerodynamics, even wearing powered armour they would be heavily buffered and battered by airflow (worst than standing in a hurricane). Would be better to have a small 'cabin' for the troopers, the cabin could have a gunship version with missile & rocket pods poking out of it Admittedly the British slightly modified the winglets of their Apaches so can fasten on a couple of troops in an emergency, used in Afghan operation but only for very short distance and they had to lay flat across wing facing forward. It OK I can possibly scrawl up an idea for cab design? Regards MMG Eagerly awaiting my drop troopers. |

I look at the guys on sides of the Sparrowhawk being seated there for short "jumps or hops" to the combat zone or LZ, not a long distance flight, perhaps similar to troops riding on Little Birds? Besides, riding on the side of helicopter into a potentially hostile situation clearly certifies you as hardcore (IMHO)! :) |

Came in wondering what a VTOI is. Vertical take off and insertion? Stupid slippery shift keys
;->= Lovely beasts! Doug |

I like the Sparrowhawk\Raven as I wanted to tech up my Divers to give them some sort of AG parachute type of deployment (in theater) as an alternate for pod riding, but seat on the side or internal bay for them to hop out of works. With the Raven Class have you considered a drop pod recovery variant? Strengthened wings with the central section removed with a couple of tandem mag locks for the pods. Not sure how atmospheric entry would work though for collection though as the empty fuselage my not have enough heat shielding. just thinking out loud really :) |

@Mad Mecha Guy The primary reason I wanted a "little bird" with troops seated outside is because I love this look:
@zonk76 Yes, that's exactly how I view it too @Thebeast D'oh! Yes, it should be VTOL @eggybreeze The back of the raven opens up with a ramp, so you easily could have HALO jumps out of there. I also love the drop pod recovery option! I have a plan to make a armored buggy that would be carried underneath, no reason it couldn't grab a drop pod too! It's amazing what you can do with nano-tech materials. In fact it can do atmo re-entry and exfil seven times before you have to have it in for maintenance to replace the silicoid-fiber insulation! |

The primary reason I wanted a "little bird" with troops seated outside is because I love this look: I knew the look; never saw in RL(tm)! That's just NUTS! As for a recovery option
Just remember, as in Starship Troopers, the recovery vehicle, and the pod it carries, is oh, so smaller than the drop pod. So fewer passengers

VTOL = Vertical Take Off & Landing The craft, and "and" are omitted from the acronym. |

Oooh
alternate insertion for the Hells Devils. Whats next --- some jeep / dune buggy options aka desert raiding ;-) |
MrHarold | 24 Oct 2013 8:44 a.m. PST |
Whats next --- some jeep / dune buggy options aka desert raiding ;-) I'd love to actually! The idea is two seater, with a heavy weapon on the back (with a guy standing there) I would then have a device at the bottom of the raven that would be able to deploy it. |
