Can anyone confirm, or deny, that Wurttemberg Flags did not have finials please? Thanks |

Per the Opsrey MAA 77,"Flags of the Napoleonic Wars (1): France & Her Allies", T. Wise & G. Rosignoli, p. 23, Yes. "These flags were carried on a wooden stave, the top half of which was painted black, with a brass ferrule, and a brass finial of the pierced design illustrated. Overall length of the stave, including finial, was 3.08 metres . . ." Hope that helps. |

I'm new to this site so haven't figured out how to attach a link yet but I've recently found a picture on a German site confirming the Honour Standard for the 3rd Jager zu Pferde Herzog Louis was a vexillum style (i.e. hanging from a horizontal bar) which had an eagle finial similar to the French style. |

Phil
write your post then give yourself a little room. Copy the link itself and then paste it below your post. It should work or I have not had enough coffee yet. Runicus |

Hi Phil, If you right-click on the image you should get a message that says something like: "Open image in new window". If you left-click on this you will get the image on its own. You then just need to copy the image address – which will probably end in .jpg – and paste it into your message. The image iteself will then appear:
