I have been looking but have not seen anyone offering these vehicles in 20mm. Am I missing a supplier that makes these?

Minirions do a T26 in plastic.

Thank you! I just noted the BT's are on SHQ's list, and maybe the reworking of the old Skytrex line will provide options.

Frontline Wargaming, SHQ, and Skytrex (now being sold by Early War Miniatures) have both types. FAA used to have the BT tanks in resin.

Another source are the 1/72 die cast collectibles sold in Russia. I have a T-26, a BT-5, and a BT-7 from the Russian company and they are nice.

Pegasus makes a quick-build BT-7 plastic kit with two in the box in 1/72.

I second Frontline for price and the new castings of the old Skytrex range by Early War Miniatures……..
There's 2 dealers on EBay that have some of the diecasts for a reasonable cost both from Poland but shipping is OK if you buy a bunch!
"models-wholesale" and "Storekeeper_paradise"

DColtman,
Good catch on the Pegasus BT-7 kit. I'm not sure how I missed those since I have two finished models staring at me from my painting table.

If I were to start over, I would build up using the Pegasus BT-7 and the Miniarons T-26

Hi all,

Although straightly involved by this thread as the owner of one of the brands mentioned here, I haven't resisted the temptation to add some comments from my own --as the simple hobbyist I also am, not as the miniature manufacturer.

First of all, nothing to add or object to the thoroughly review by Tim --as he already knows, probably. I honestly declare his review above to be a honest, accurate and objective one.

It happens that coincidentally I'm right now painting a bunch of 8 T-26 for a customer, who's asked me to do so --4 as SCW Nationalists, the other 4 as Republicans. I've taken advantage of the commission for painting a couple else for myself, besides of two BT-5 also for myself.

So that I have now my workbench plentiful of stuff asking to be depicted!!!

Given the lot of inter-mixing experimentation I've essayed with this lot of tanks, I've thought it would be useful for anyone interested in the topics to watch such pictures and judge by himself.

Here the pictures go. First, those 4 Nationalist ones --painting work still in progress, as you can see:

First, second and fourth tanks are 'pure' Minairons except for a few sparse stowage items --some spare tracks from an UM set, left side toolbox from Mirage--, or the nice tank commander from AB figures.

Third one is a sort of Frankenstein minion made up from a S-Model hull and Minairons tracks, as well as a Pegasus turret. The folded canvas on hull rear is from… er… an Hasegawa Stuart?

More pictures on this ensemble:

Not difficult no guess where the S-Models hull is, admittedly.

And now some pictures from the second set --that are to be painted as Republican:

here, only tank 2 is a 'pure' Minairons --except for the AA MG coming from a Mirage set. First tank is Minairons with UM turret, while the third one is another Frankenstein minion made up with Mirage lower hull and mudguards, Minairons tracks, upper hull and turret, and S-Model turret lights. About the fourth one, I feel it to be some of a pleasent heresy: it's all Minairons except for the turret with antenna, obviously coming from S-Model

Again, a few stowage items here and there, from my inexhaustible spares box grin

Painting work is just on its beginning, but I firmly believe the whole set will look pretty nice, in spite of the disparate, even bizarre origin of each tank.

Hope this helps,
Lluís

Despite not straightly involved in the topics, for it is referred to T-26s and BT-7s --not to BT-5s, I've thought it nice to add a few pictures of those two BT-5s I'm also painting now:

One is to be painted as Republican, the other one as Nationalist. Again, I've taken advantage of each kit disparate origin for experimenting a bit with them. The one at left is a resin Modelkrak with plastic UM turret, while the second is UM with minairons turret.

Both have had their respective original tracks replaced by those of a Pegasus BT-7. Lots of drilling and wire pegs fitting have been needed, you're warned knife

This has given me the opportunity to thoroughly inspect Pegasus own BT-7 sprues… and extract some conclusions for an eventual future BT-5/BT-7 sprue evil grin

If only I had money enough for such frown

Wow! Thanks for the kit reviews. I'm happy to finally be at work again. I need some tanks.

Another great kit, though not a T-26 or BT-7, is the Pegasus BA-6 armored cars.

Joe, here are my posts about the Minairon T-26:

I highly recommend this kit.

The Pegasus BA6 are great little models……..rate as the easiest I've ever had to assemble! Well worth looking out for!
