Here's a little batrep of an FOW Vietnam game I played recently. Enjoy!

Nice AAR. Yeah I agree that dug-in US infantry forces are about impossible to assault unless they have been heavily attritted. Not even being pinned really hurts them!

One note on withdrawing PAVN "Companies." I "think" that even if you pass your motivation check upon withdraw, you still give up a "Battle Point" to the Free World player. You just don't count that unit as destroyed for "Battalion" morale purposes.

Thanks, yes I did the morale rules right for PAVN but might not have stated it correctly in the AAR.

Yeah…I was playing that Withdraw rule wrong for months myself, so just wanted to make sure!

I rechecked and the VP score was 7-5 but same game result if 5-2. But you were right thanks for the heads up!

Enjoyed the AAR!

Any reason that the Sheridans did not lead the M113s in using the Bush Bashing rule? The second airmobile landing looks a little on the tight side. There should be 4" between each of the Hueys, basically enough for the model rotor blades to rotate and not touch. This gets to be a pretty big deal as NVA and VC forces close up LZs.

Guess we forgot about bush bashing, good point. But as for the models…is that a rule? The rotors are not counted as part of the model game-wise, IIRC, so turning them sideways to fit the choppers in a tight spot did not strike us as an issue.

The rule for landing slicks is on Pg107 of the Tour of Duty rulebook: "Slicks cannot be placed within 4"/10cm of an enemy team or within 2"/5cm of open or normal woods, forrest, buildings, or other helicopters. Slicks cannot move once placed."
So, the rule is 2" between slicks, not 4". My apologies. Our group plays 4" as it makes more sense visually and allows for troops to delpoy from both sides of each slick as needed. Keep those AARs coming.
