"The Draka breed Ghouloons, gene-spliced Baboons with human and wolf genes, to provide massive numbers of obedient, cheap, and expendable shock troopers that can handle levers, buttons, rifles and simple tools."

Can anyone suggest a set of figures that could be used for these soldiers? All I can find are the Critical Mass Felids which are similar but not quite right.

Can anybody improve on these figs?

RAFM do the old Citadel Traveller Vargr – now called the Warhounds of Sirius.

Alternatively, Peter Pig do separate wolf heads in their Heads & Odds section.

Thanks, I'd managed to miss the RAFM figs, they look closer to what I want.

Ah, someone else remembers those. grin

I think the Felids and Vargr might be too small – I seem to recall the ghouloons being…big. Can't remember if they were planigrade or digitigrade, though. But nothing better comes to mind.

@nvdoyle

Yes the ghouloons are described as big (and I believe digitigrade) so one of the above will have to do unless I can spot something better in 20mm. Might just put them on a thicker base if nothing else turns up.

Hmmm. perhaps the old Alin'Ru figures for Starguard will work? They're 1/72 scale and none too friendly lookin':

The light infantry figures might work for your purposes, however note that the armored Alin'Ru are wearing simple ballistic armor without any power assist (ie., the Alin'Ru don't really need any help with the weight of the armor!).

You can look up the Alin'Ru on Reviresco's website: tin-soldier.com

They're part of the classic Starguard! figure line, being described as large ursinoid (bear-like) allies of the Ralnai Imperium.

Hope this helps!evil grin

Thanks Leland, these are even closer to the description and are a clear favourite.
