Maybe moving to the Texas Hill Country about half way between Austin and San Antonio. What is the Historical Wargame scene like? I do ACW, Naps, FPW, Boer War and TS&TF, wanting to get into ECW, SYW etc…

Warlock hit the nail on the head, we have a fantastic group of gamers here. Rob is great, his store is more than accommadating, and we play everything :-)

Half way between? I just left New Braunfels last year. The area you are talking about has great gaming and as mentioned Great Hall Games is fantastic.

Nicest group of gamers you'll never meet and Millennium Con is very well run with loads of games.

He did hit the historical Miniatures Motherlode here. Lots of players involved with not only playing, but with developing rules.

Wow, what a response! Well if it works out and I move there I can rest assured that I want lack for gaming. I attended Millennium Con many years ago and really enjoyed it. Can't remember if I ran a game there or not. After a while all the conventions and such get a little blurry.

Thanks!

Glad to have you in the neighborhood. I drive 60 miles to game at GHG and it is worth every bit of effort. Great shop, great gaming space, and great gamers. Looking forward to meeting you.

The wargaming club in Austin has a forum:

greathallgamers.org/forum

As mentioned before, you will be in wargaming heaven here. A shop that specializes in historicals (GreatHall Games), and a number of Warhammer/40K/Fantasy shops (Dragon's Lair, Wonko's among others).

We do ACW (usually Fire and Fury but open to other rules). We play a lot of Napoleon at War.

Haven't seen much FPW but would love to try it if you have a rules set in mind. I do have a pretty decent sized Prussian army in 10mm.

One of our club members is developing a set of colonials rules that should be published sometime next year and we are still play-testing 2nd Boer War scenarios. We would love to have your input.

We play ECW usually using Field of Glory.

There are several of us interested in SYW. One of the club members is working on some house rules for Might and Reason but we are open to trying other rules sets for the period.

Hope that helps.
