Had a very enjoyable day there in Sarf London, yesterday. Alas I was too busy with Thapsus to take photos of the other games, some of which looked great… but there are more photos of Thapsus on t'blog!

Thanks chaps!

Hi Mike, I've seen reconstructions of Augustan marines with Boeotian and Attic helmets. The drawing in Armies and Enemies has a Boeotian battle-bowler.

The marines often came from Greece and Egypt. I realised that Foundry Thebans are pretty much ideal to represent them…

Great looking game Simon, I especially liked the boat! Just back from Bodrum where they had an interesting reconstruction of a bronze age merchantman.

Thanks chaps.

Paul, I believe it was one game all, but I missed the very end of the second game as I was busy chatting with people.

Hi Garry, would love to see that, sometime. I did have a day out myself on a not-particularly-faithful reconstruction of a bireme, a couple of years back. Was a lot of fun!
