I've been looking at these figures. Question are they really as good as they look?

Bellbottom09 Oct 2013 8:41 a.m. PST

Yes

Bellbottom09 Oct 2013 8:45 a.m. PST

Yes they are, if a bit pricey, the command figures are exceptional and go well with the Little Big Men shield transfers designed for them.
LBM tells me he hopes to have transfers for Hospitallers and Kingdom of Jerusalem soon, hopefully before Xmas.

The LBM banner sheets for Crusaders and Saracens are excellent too.

Absolutely

My dozen Late Medieval armies are all Legio Heroica; a pleasure to paint, good sculpting and detail.

Legio would be my first choice if I collect the Crusader period.

Cheers,

Well that seals the deal, the Impetvs Crusader army box for me then. Those "lbms" transfer did catch my eye also. Thank's guys!

They arent crusaders, but I did some Saracen militia from LH a while back. Absolutely amazing for 15mm

Top notch and worth it…

They are the best, and they are worth it, and they have a sale on at the moment for FOG units.

I have their Crusaders, Mamelukes, Ayyubids, Fatimids, and Syrians, and I am well pleased with them.

yorkie01; fantastic brush work; it was some of your pictures that made me take a double look at this range in the first place. The Third Crusade has always intrigue me! Please tell me how you finished your base. jdeleonardis; also some great brush work, and how did you do your bases? And once again thanks for all the input guys!

These are amongst the finest minis I've owned, the best you could buy. You won't regret buying them.

Keraunos09 Oct 2013 11:12 p.m. PST

there are a couple of 'bests' at the moment in this scale.

but Legio are certainly amongst them, and have a bigger range than most of the others – Milirton in particular are also excellent, but a smaller range. shame they are not scale compatible really.

you wont regret going with Legio.

except possibly their hussiaria, but only because those wings are so damn difficult to assemble.

I have some of these and have just ordered some more.

They are very nice figures, outstanding in fact. Here's the thing they are quite big for 15mm the infantry more so than the cavalry.

The cavalry will fit more or less with most ranges but I have used thinner bases for the infantry to ensure they fit with my Essex units. It works fine.

They are a great match with Outpost Wargames Crusade ranges.

Speaking of Outpost its hard to find better figures for for Turcmen including the LH ones.

Were I to be starting out in the period I would go entirely with LH barring the Turcmen. Outpost for Turcmen in my view.

I'm hoping LH will do some Byzantines as part of their Crusade range.

Excellent figures and Giuseppe is a true gentlemen too. You won't regret using Legio Heroica.

Redcurrant10 Oct 2013 3:19 p.m. PST

I am also hoping that LH will do 12th Cent Byzantines, and also Seljuq Turks.
