Well I like SHQ but they don't seem to get much love from anyone else. Nice proportional sculpting, huge range. |

Every range has its fans, but AB Figures are the standard in terms of detail, proportion and realistic poses. I began my 20mm collection with other ranges (which were both a bit cheaper and better known at the time), but soon decided I had made a false start as I wanted to replace everything with AB. The only drawback is the AB range is limited to three nations (British, German and US)for one main theatre (NWE) apart from some vehicle crew figures for others (French, Italian and Soviet). Not a problem if you plan on gaming Normandy, but a bit limiting if you are thinking of the Russian Front or island hopping in the Pacific. |

I'll second SHQ, however, it's been quite a while since I have added any figures. I also liked FAA and Battlefield. Vince |

My collection is mostly FAA (but bought many years ago) and SHQ (bought when FAA ceased to be available). I use AB for vehicle crews but I find them a bit small for infantry when standing alongside my other figures. |

The fact that Steve Zaloga has often used AB for his dioramas should speak volumes about their quality. |

Loads of great plastic figures for this period. Cheap and easily obtained

If cost is an issue many of the plastic line paint up quite well Caeser and Pegusus stand out and some of the newer Italiari. Plastic Solidier Company (PSC) has some very nice boxed sets. TomT |

I have Kellys Heroes, Hinchcliffe (from Lancer), Lancer, Shq, Warmodelling and a few AB. I like all of them. SHQ seem quite small, Warmodelling are chunky, as are Lancer, AB are very nice but pricy. I really like the look of the Hinchcliffe and Kellys Heroes. PSC are good. I like to get a good mixture for variety of pose. |
