Wondering if anyone can post pictures of what 20mm looks like on a table of this size (8 x 4). Trying to figure out if I want 15mm or 20mm :) |

Both will play just fine and look great
My strong preference, based on experience building, painting and playing, is for 20mm. What do you want to collect and how much room do you have for keeping your collection? |

15s are fun to play since you can fit more stuff onto the table-- I play Battleground Kursk this way since there are often huge numbers of tanks in the games. But my Normandy and Fall of the Reich stuff is all 20mm. There is such an incredible selection out there and most of the models are so far superior to either 15 or 28mm that I've never understood why so many moved away from 20mm to those sizes

I have a huge walk in closet and NO WIFE :)so space isn't an issue for me. I'm going to do 6mm, down the road, for some larger fights (russian, germans, usa) |

I recently played some games using 15mm figures (as compared to 20mm and 25/28mm). The 15's are just to small for me to tell weapon type without bending way down. I even had some trouble tell one side from the other. If you are planning 6mm for big battles then go with the 20mm. My home table is 8x4 and works quite well for both 20mm and 28mm.

This is a 6.5' by 5.5' 20mm game on an 8by6 table, the rules being BGPG v2 where a stand of 2 or 3 figures is a squad or section (singles being platoon commanders) : link |

I think the key question to think about before deciding on a figure scale is what level of game to want to play e.g. a) platoon and below, b) company, c) battalion and above. I'm guessing it's not c) as you mention 6mm for larger games. If your plan is a), 20mm will be fine on an 8ft x 4ft table. If you want to do your gaming mainly at company level, the table can get crowded when you add a village, fields and maybe a troop or two of tanks. I'm sure you could do it on a table that size, but if you intend to focus on company level forces plus support, personally I would go with 15mm. |

I came at this through the general board so missed that we are talking WW2. 8x4 fine, 8x5 better. |

I came at this through the general board so missed that we are talking WW2. 8x4 fine, 8x5 better. And 18 x 6 even better I'm sure. Sadly however, not everyone has that kind of space available. |
