Alright people I have a tong gang that wears black and white or navy blue and white with a little red for the leaders to make them standout. I am looking to start a new tong gang (one for them to fight against) but am not sure of what colors to do? The black and navy blue are almost too similar to fight against each other. I have seen people use red or yellow but it is always with a lot of black. Blue also works but have the navy blue which makes it hard (I know I did this to myself) so does anyone have any pictures or idea that I could use? Thanks. -Ben |

No pics, but dark green, grey, and brown were popular dye colors in the Far East during the Victorian period. Dark Violet with lavendar drybrushing might also look good. You could also try gold and sliver on the trim as easily visually distinguishable. This would also open up options like a combined dark blue gang with several "battallions" – white trim, silver trim, gold trim – when you need a big gang against the authorities. Also hats. Tassle hats vs. non-tassle hats. Cloth hats vs. straw hats (vs. no hats? (vs. bandannas?)). War is just men in funny hats killing each other. - misquoted from George Carlin |

I actually think black and dark blue entirely too bland. I suggest bright colors. Shiny silk fabrics. Perhaps even patterned cloth, or with embroidery. link link link Doug |

Thanks That will help. Now I have to make choices. |

I was thinking yellow and green, maybe a very dark green, like Vallejo's Black Green? |

Or yellow and red. With black tong emblems? Mostly yellow, with red and black accents, at any rate. |

Now you're just trying to overwhelm him. ;->= No pics, but dark green, grey, and brown were popular dye colors in the Far East during the Victorian period. While true, I've always thought of the Tong as larger-than-life, perhaps with delusions of Celestial Empire-hood. Her nibs, to this day, is walking around mumbling, 'is it too much to ask for a Yeti with frikking lasers?' Doug |
