Ladies and gents. Hope you're all well.

Exmouth Imperials would like to welcome you to Legionary 2014. The theme which will continue through our shows will be that we want Legionary to be "The Friendly Show", and one where people get involved.

Last year we broke new boundaries. More traders than ever was supplemented by a staggering number of show games. We asked for support in this area from our local (and not so local!) clubs and traders. The results were breathtaking in terms of numbers, quality, and the breadth of genres.

So, what are these genres that we will show you? Expect to see role playing, fantasy, science fiction, Very British Civil War, aerial combat, and historical covering everything from ancient through to modern. You may be surprised, but we are broadening this show.

And our traders? Well we expect to have an even greater trader team this coming year, surpassing last year's tally.

Our large Bring and Buy will still be there as always.

Tournaments however are going to break the mould. This Legionary 2014 we will be offering the following competitions for people to try. Following the theme of "The Friendly Show" we have been ably helped in this new endeavour by two truly supportive local clubs. We have a platform of variety and breadth in our competitions.

We think this is really quite different.

Warhammer Fantasy Battle Tournament – Hosted by Exmouth Imperials

SAGA Dark Ages Tournament – Hosted by Exmouth Imperials

Bolt Action WWII Tournament – Hosted by Plymouth Association of Wargamers

War and Conquest Ancients Tournament – Hosted by Lincombe Barns Wargames Society

We have also found from our experiences over the last two shows that as we talk to our local clubs and traders other things will happen. There will be more to offer as we develop this 2014 show. So please look out for our updates. This is a dynamic process and we would welcome suggestions from clubs, traders, and wargamers to make this an exciting show.

So please put these details in your diary

Looking forward to another year in attendance. Can we have stickers this year though please? The ink stamp made my hand come out in an itchy rash….. :(

Duely noted Michael, sorry. I'll see what we can do.

I think with a well supported risk assessment you may be ok.

Would like to point out that Lincombe Barn Wargames Society isn't hosting the W&C Ancients Tournament

So i hear. The campaign is still being run though…. Clarification to be issued when i know why the person who actually wrote the press release was told that. Its the first club flogging of the year, its very exciting….

Maybe it is the Bincombe Larn Wargames Society. The two are easily confused.

Myself, (author of War & Conquest) or a 'willing volunteer or volunteers' will be running a War & Conquest mini campaign.

Full details nearer the time but it will no doubt involve some action appropriate to the local area, and will be set in either Dark Age or Roman times.

We will also be there running a WW1 game and with a trade stand.

Its a great show and we have enjoyed our previous visits

Kind regards

We shall be visiting. The show seems to be improving each year. The smell of cow/bull wee seemed to be less this year, which is a good thing :)
