I did these up as practice sculpts but really like them and think I want to add to my universe as a small alien race that allies with the gitungi and some human factions -- not really wanting them as a stand alone army more of a recon squad and mortar unit. perhaps down the road some support missle launcher troopers and artillery emplacements. 10 poses in all and am thinking pack like group photo --

I think they'd be a great 15mm scale alien |

"The Zwerg," or a variation on that theme. German for dwarf. At least that's what Google Translate tells me (apologies to German speakers if I'm in error). Best, JBR |

They scale about 10mm, right? Look great next to the 15mm example! Doug |

10mm to eyes -- see them more as elf or pygmies types more than dwarfs -- would probably go with Slavic or Slovenian Language for pygmy -- trpaslĂk or kepec I do like the dutch work dwerg as well I need to figure out what faction found them as it will determine the name -- I am thinking the Russian themed faction – the masks go well together |

There is no such thing as too small or too big aliens in sci fi. It's scifi! I love when I hear how the alien is too big or too small. Really? They look great and fit in perfectly. Nice job. |

We've definitely had conversations like this on TMP before. There are humans alive today who regularly top out at four foot or so, same as there are those whose average height is at the thick end of almost seven feet. Humanity has antecedents of greater extremes than that ie both taller (and bigger
) and shorter. So humans of 3ft 6in tall as a subspecies: no problems, for me at any rate. Space halflings. Great stuff. And that's before we add in the extras of biological engineering, alien worlds/gravities and just flat out aliens (as in non human-but bipedal types). But – if you use them – expect to spend every single game explaining to all and sundry that, no: you're not using the "wrong" sized figures and that it's a deliberate decision on your part. John T |

Size? Size doesn't matter (just ask the Chingers)

Considering that I am using 28mm, 20mm, 15mm, and a few 1/144 scale figures all in the same army, I don't see a problem with those. |

We've definitely had conversations like this on TMP before. Yes, but when was the last time we got to have one sans Porfiro jumping in and going "They're too big.", "They're too small", etc? I like 'em. I like JBR's name recommendation too. I really need to get people around where I am on the 15mm bandwagon too. I'm starting to really not like painting mountains of 28s. |

Of course they're not too small for 15mm. Aliens will come in all shapes and sizes. As for naming them, go with whatever you will. Just remember that the human grunts will refer to them as pixies, gnomes, goblins or hobbits. When their officers tell them not to use those names, they will simply refer to them as "Stills". |
