Don't know if this has been posted already, but Valom Models have a 1/144 Fokker D.VII – 2 kits and lozenge decals included.

They also did a Sopwith Pup.

Nice, but if I calculate right, that's almost $22 USD each after shipping. Steep.

There are a few stockists for them; bound to be one your side of the pond.

Depends where you are,
MODELIMEX is in the Czech Republic.
Hannants in England also carries them:

There is an SE5a, Nieuport 17 and Albatros D.V in the works.

In the USA Roll Models has the Fokker listed and I assume that Squadron Shop should be able to get them.

They have etch brass struts which makes for fiddly assembly. You could replace this with plastic rod I guess. I bought a pile of the Pup kits hoping for something designed like the old Revell 1/72 kits for relatively easy assembly but was a bit disappointed. They are ok models but I feel they are a bit more of a modellers kit than a wargamers god-send. I wasn't keen on the wings that aren't as good as those found on the better examples of the WoW/G models. I sold all the Pup kits.

I think for gamers they really need to be the equivalent of the PSC tank kits.

I agree with Timmo, I bought the Pups and found they may be a little delicate for gaming. Plus they were rather fiddley to put together. Having also bought some Shapeways stuff I'd go with them again over Valom.

Nice lozenge decals! Man, these are a far cry in pricing from when I was young! Wow, I can get the Wings of Glory repaints for this. They seem rather basic in build or not?

Tin hat29 Sep 2013 11:36 a.m. PST

A few years ago these would have been popular , but with the likes of Shapeways ready built accurate models that work out at less than half the price why bother ?

For wargamers I'd probably agree. But these aren't aimed at wargamers, but at scale modellers who demand a higher standard of detail. So they would bother.

They have etch brass struts which makes for fiddly assembly.

Then they are not for gaming either.
