Napoleon leads the Old Guard to certain victory against a surprised Sacken, what could possibly go wrong?

Lovely batrep, thanks :)

Nice. Masses of figures are always awesome, especially Russians.

I like how the table is uncluttered by markers, too.

idontbelieveit28 Sep 2013 11:11 a.m. PST

What rules are you using?

I feel the need for some Old Guard myself….

Thanks for the report. I love your collection of figures -- shiny figures are the way to represent Napoleonics. I also appreciate the support of my scenario book. We had lots of fun developing it years ago and I am pleased that it still supports the hobby today.

I assume not Shako rules – GdeB or similar? Looks really nice and I guess you guys had fun. How Naps should be

Thanks for the kind comments gents.

In answer to the rules question – we use General de Brigade with "big battalions" and as few markers as possible!

Sausagesca – if you have any unpublished scenarios I would love to have a crack at them, you seem to have a gift for creating fun balanced games within a refight situation.

Good luck with yours sparker and good luck with the Guard too.

Thanks again, Jeremy

No new scenarios at the moment. I have been occupied with my BFE scenarios, knocking around a WWI varient, and periodically working on Armati Renaissance.

Hope to get back to Napoleonic scenario design at some point.

Great looking game – thanks for posting!

Cheers for the feedback Caliban.

Hi Sausagesca! Glad to hear you're still at it! If you ever return to Napoleonic scenarios I would be glad to help with play testing at least.

Best wishes

Jeremy

An excellent game and write-up--don't know how on earth I missed this earlier! Would love to tote my Russian division down the M4 sometime to join a game. grin

Hi Greystreak, glad you liked it! Happy to talk to you about giving your Russians a run about at our end of the M4 – if it's possible to pm me please do so – you can certainly reach me via the GdB website.
Best wishes

Great batrep, thanks for posting!

Out of interest, what make are your the mamalukes?

warpaintjj05 Feb 2014 10:39 a.m. PST

My pleasure "I see lead",
the Mamluks are from Bicorne Miniatures but are riding Front Rank horses to help tie them to the rest of the Regiment who are of course Front Rank Guard Chassuers a Cheval.
Cheers
JJ
