The OKI Corporation has begun construction of the OKI Pent-Habs.

These habitation units have been designed for use on Kometenmelodie where the threat of attack from indigenous wildlife is very real and ever present.

Razor Hounds and Flak Worms will no longer be a threat to you and your family when you are safe and sound in the new OKI Pent-Habs.

Update to follow.

l'm looking forward to viewing the OKI catalogue images of the Pent-Habs. A Razor Hound pack recently ate my MHU and I'm living in a deema seed ditch with three kids and my auto-shotgun toting wife.

Happy times.

Help me OKI, this planet'll be the death of me!

wings to stay above it26 Sep 2013 1:24 p.m. PST

Dear Mr. Earther,

We are horrified to hear about the loss of your MHU.
Was it an older model, the A2's always were a bit twitchy?

Either way, we have made our sales agent for your area aware of the situation and he will be along shortly to discuss compensation.

Thank you CMZ for the heads up.

Mr. Earther, or just Earther if I may..

I too am horrified to learn of the destruction of your MHU.

I would like to offer you a free Pent-Hab complex when they are available.

Could you please drop me an e-mail to confirm your interest in this offer.

Michael.

Thank you OKI and AB,

My wife is currently complaining to her folks back home using our family uplink. Once I can realign it to pick up the OKI relay network, I shall be in touch.

Many thanks for responding so promptly. If I never see another deema seed in my life, it'll be too soon. I'm just glad there's no Junkers operating out here!

Okay, must dash – proximity sensors have just picked up what looks like a Juraped on the perimeter – and it's rutting season…

Good Luck Earther.

I have some very early stage prototype sketches you can peruse once you make contact.
If the design is appealing I will make sure you get the first one from the OKI production line.

The Juraped is just misunderstood…-think of it as like a giant poodle that wants to be 'friendly' with your leg(s)….
(RDF Order 937 prevents the slaughter of indig. lifeforms except when said lifeform is a threat to personnel involved in operational activities. Be warned.)

Earther27 Sep 2013 11:24 a.m. PST

I think a juraped in heat could be classed as a threat, RDF Order 937 be damned! My God, it was so impossibly rigid…

I've nowhere to wash my enviro-smock until OKI sort us out. I should've stayed in the ECM.

Good evening OKI Corp. Your new Pent-Habs have got the attention of one of our region Directors. We lost a few MHU's the other day, the RDF in all their wisdom. Broke into one of our compounds and started a little skirmish. Anyway, a stray RPG blow up the executive MHU and the Director wasn't happy. Especially given the fact his golf clubs were inside.

Please keep us posted on the estimated date we can expect these units.

Many thanks,
Cerberus.

Greetings Cerberus Corporation.

As a preferred client we have sent initial design concepts via secured e-mail to your known address.

Please confirm receipt of data packet.

PS: Sorry to hear about Mr Calico's golf clubs.

Thank you OKI Corp. Rest assure that I will pass the data on to the Director. I'm sure Mr Calico will be very pleased with what he see's and will be putting in an order once the units are ready.

Cerberus.

P.I.S.S. (Protection of Indigenous Species Service) is monitoring this transmission band. Regarding 937, we require confirmation the juraped was in no way harmed.

greg95427 Sep 2013 2:02 p.m. PST

Incoming transmission……origin…Mars…Cerberus Corporation.

For the interest of Protection of Indigenous Species Service. No Juraped has been harmed here on Mars and directive 937 has been adhered to. Despite the fact that one of our geologists was left very badly shaken after a rutting Juraped attack him. He was bending over examining a bit of rock when…..Well you get the ideal.

Regards
Cerberus.

Data packet sent to OKI – awaiting response squirt. (No juraped jokes please).

It's so… cold…

Gaz004528 Sep 2013 5:00 a.m. PST

Perhaps we can interest the aforementioned geologist in our new 'carapace pantaloons' …..the latest from the Bugo Hoss 'Field & Survey' clothing range?
"A flexible, durable material that is penetration and bite resistant and indeed offers protection from biological fluid contamination……this self contained trouser containment unit can also be upgraded with the external power skeleton to aid escape by rapid movement away from recognised threats….."

OKI – message sent and reply received. You have another inbound. I hope the spamdroids don't get this one.

That's a great design! My wife now wants to live in one, even if we will have 4 other neighbours. As long as they're not Junker terrorists or BPI employees, I'm okay with it too. I'd defy a razor hound to leap that high!

Thank you OKI. You're really going above and beyond for Johnny Colonist.

Thank you Earther, we are able to release finished design renders if enough people are interested….?

- Angel Barracks, bringing you all the latest OKI goodness.

:D

Gaz004530 Sep 2013 5:08 a.m. PST

That is an imaginative design! The pentagonal piece is familiar but I can't place it…….so the habitat pods lower for access or is there a central access point in the main column or both?
Will the support fins be wide enough to keep it upright? Critical failure if one of the pods falls and unbalances it all………

Angel Barracks30 Sep 2013 5:17 a.m. PST

Yes, they lower.
The owner simply calls the pod down via his key, gets inside and raises it up to the docking arm.
Safe as houses, or a penthouse, or indeed a Pent-Hab.

Plus if the owner takes out the OKI service package (very reasonable it is too) then the OKI Corporation can lower it remotely from their offices should the owner have misplaced their key.

The OKI service package can also provide a remote security gun.
This can only be activated when all the pods are occupied and docked, all 5 pods have a code which when correctly entered allows the remote sentry gun to open fire on any ground moving target within 50m.

Earther30 Sep 2013 7:45 a.m. PST

Those pods would make good escape capsules too…

Angel Barracks30 Sep 2013 8:20 a.m. PST

Or drop pods with some ready planned bitz…

The height of luxury – An OKI pent-hab fitted out by Faberge….stands out a mile tho'…..al those jewell encrusted window frames…..

The stem reminds me of a rifle grenade-the fins! The pentagonal top looks like the fins off of a bomb-
