I have placed an order on Baccus and Rapier Miniatures, but did not received almost no information about it. Baccus sent me an e-mail some days later saying that they were busy and the order would be shipped next day (i hope that it happened). Rapier did not sent me any information, even when i sent an e-mail asking about the status of the order. It was almost 2 weeks ago. It was my first purchase from both companies, so i ask you guys: Is it normal, or i need to worry about this?

Thanks!

Ps: Sorry for my bad english!

I have never had a problem with either company. There are sometimes delays due to the UK convention schedule or materials/casting. From personal experience, the Royal Mail was usually the major reason for a delay.

Rapier have at times past had problems with their e-mail so it may be worth trying again. They do tend to be a bit slower than larger companies such as Baccus so I wouldn't worry too much.

Baccus are reliable but sometimes overwhelmed if they have just released a new set of figures or are getting ready for a show (which will be Derby this coming weekend).

Hi JucaJunior,

Is this for the Mythology figures, if so I did reply, but it appears you have not received it.

Yes we have had the order and at the moment I am very bad at replying due to suddenly moving house.

Our normal level of service will be resumed after the weekend, but I hope to get your order in the post before then.

Apologies and Yours

Stephan @ Rapier

Relax, they are both reliable companies.

Wow! My first topic here in TMP and received 5 replies in less than one hour! Thanks for the quick answers! ;)

Stephan @ Rapier:
I really did not received your e-mail. Maybe some internal problem in hotmail, perhaps? But its ok, now i know that my order was not gone to "limbo" and is in good hands. :D

Thanks again!

Don't worry about Baccus either. Peter is one of the best there is. I have ordered stuff from him for years, and never had a problem.

Baccus is truly excellent – I haven't ordered from Rapier before, but he cared enough to reply here, eh? Good on that.

I just received an order from Rapier today. Order date was 26 August, so right at 1 month turn around time. Shave off 7-10 days for shipping and not a terrible turn around time.

Hand written note apologizing for any delay.

Juca,

We don't have an automated mail system for notification of shipping orders, and it would take a up a significant chunk of very valuable time to do so manually.

We do state in the Terms and Conditions and on the site that all orders are cast as they come through to us and that we will normally turnaround the order in 2 to 5 days and have it in the post. After that we are entirely in the hands of the International Small Packet service. This is pretty reliable and will normally get the order to the customer in a further 5-10 days, although some do take longer.

We do have instant communications and ordering thanks to the internet. Unfortunately the casting technology and postal service remain firmly rooted in last century timescales!

Cheers

Peter

Had no problems with either company

Cerdic26 Sep 2013 4:05 a.m. PST

Both are very good companies to deal with. Having ordered stuff via their websites and met both at shows, I would highly recommend the two of them!

JucaJunior26 Sep 2013 6:32 a.m. PST

Well, first of all, thanks everybody for replying!

I think i need to say that i was not complaining, really. I was just curious (and a bit eager, indeed) because i am used to buy things from Ebay, Dealextreme and other big companies where the comunication is quite fast and the amount of information about your order is big. For me its not a problem, its just different. :D And, well, it was my first 6mm miniatures purchase (i think there will be many more), and first time dealing with these two companies. And man, how i love miniatures… *_*

Baccus 6mm:
No problem at all. As i said i was not complaining, and as i ordered just a sample, i think there is not much to worry about. ;)

I double checked the spam folder. I really did not received it. (please note that i am NOT saying that Rapier did not sent!)

The minis arrived yesterday! Great minis, i have never seen 6mm miniatures before. The detail amount is incredible for something so small!

I am placing new orders today. My mighty Romans will crush the enemy without mercy! evil grin
