Isandlwana! This is my refight using modified Battle Cry rules. More details, including scenario map, at my blog:

wargamingwithbarks.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/zulu-isandlwana.html

The dry Nyogane donga separates the adversaries

N Battery anchors the British centre, next to Pulleine and the Colours.

The initial hammer blow comes from the Zulu right horn…

… but is repulsed for the loss of a unit.

The left horn attacks Zikhali's Horse and the neighbouring infantry.

The Zulu main body assaults through the donga…

…and swarms through a hole in the British line!

The British centre crumbles.

The Colours and the gunners make their last stand as the flanks collapse back.

Pulleine stands alone. The remnants of the British force prepare to die.

What a cracker of a game! An initial strong Zulu assault on the British left was repulsed, but then a strong 'Forced March' brought overwhelming numbers into the centre. That was the decisive moment of the battle. The British right then collapsed, and the remnants of the centre and left were ground down. Durnford and the NNH were the last to die, at the foot of Isandlwana.

Wow! Love how your bases blend in with – nay, disappear into – the board!

Seen Battle Cry but never played it, looks like you have a very good game. How long to play and what is the replayability like?

Very nice proper toy soldier looking game!

And may I echo Mad Monarchist. The bases are fantastic.

More by accident than design, but I was happy with the outcome!

Battle Cry itself is pleasantly fast- each game takes maybe under an hour; you can play a game then swap sides and be done in 90 minutes. It is purely scenario driven, and comes with 30 scenarios. The orders are by a card system, so each game will still be different. Highly recommended as a 'light' wargame, along with the rest of its Commands and Colors brethren.

I think that's the best looking quasi-boardgame I've ever seen. Very impressive indeed. Thanks for posting!
