I've never played Warhammer but when I came across this story in another site I had to chuckle. Is this possible? I mean, do the rules permit it? imgur.com/a/V0gND |

It's an older story. They've changed the rules since then I believe. Still, having played against guys who did that I enjoyed reading the story. |

If that's true it's a great story
and a good example of why I don't want to play in tournaments or with people like 'Wheels'. |

"I'd say he won fair and square!" No he didn't because
Shooter's unit is illegally deployed since there are more than a 2" gap between models. Though this was also back in 5th Edition and not 6th Edition. But it would not matter to me with Wheels was a power gamer because I would have been using my Imperial Guard and it has 190 models in it. So there would never be a weak point in it. Plus I would have just sat back and waited until he came on outside of his weapon range. He comes on and I shoot him to pieces. |

That's why I don't play in tournaments EVER! |

Cheese in response to cheese. Makes me want a sandwich. Rule-wise an appropriate response to 'Wheels' deployment tactic. |

If he had more models so that they would be legally deployed instead of illegally deployed. |

Ah yes, this is why I gave up on GW games. |

Funny post. However the game is Warhammer 40K so this was posted to the wrong board. |

That's great. I don't play in tournies either. |

What a waste. You spend hours painting figures, learning rules, pay a fee to enter a tournament, drive to the site (maybe get an hotel room) and you don't get to play a game. Neither player should be smiling. Bad rules, compounded by poorly conceived special units combine to make a terrible gaming experience. Blame the designers not the players. Yet the zombies buy more

@Mithme "Shooter's unit is illegally deployed since there are more than a 2" gap between models." Don't know how you arrived at this conclusion
. 2 inches is 5.08 centimeters. So he can have them at exactly 5 centimeters apart and be within or at 2 inches. If you read the website, there were no gaps of more than 5 centimeters anywhere

""Shooter's unit is illegally deployed since there are more than a 2" gap between models." Don't know how you arrived at this conclusion
." Simple Just by looking at the bottom three figures that Shooter deployed. A standard size base I.E. 25mm is approx one inch and there is no way in hell that if I put two other figures down between those three figure will they be completely touching any of the other two figures that are on the table. Trust me alot of players tend to forget the 2" rule between models because it really does not matter most of the time. But in this case it does. Oh and trust me that the official probably doesn't know the rules either. The the ruling was made and Wheels lost that matched. Which as a power gamer he deserved to lose. I would have just beaten on the table instead of using some cheese rules. |
