I got to play a ACW naval game this past Sunday and remembered I had a 1:600 scale CSS Virginia model I have had for more than 20 years just sitting in its box unassembled and unpainted. Since I have been in a painting mood I decided to pull out the box and put the model together and get her painted up.

Nice! May she always sail to victory

Very well done. I really like the slight trace of rust on the casemate.

Is it Thoroughbred Miniatures?

CJArnold17 Sep 2013 10:29 a.m. PST

Thanks, for the compliments.

Yes it is a Thoroughbred Miniature. I will need to get USS Monitor next. and others should be coming after that, the wife saw some of other castings and thought they would be cool for me to paint up.

Nice work! Always thought she was the most attractive of the casemate ironclads.

Nice work! I have the same model from T'bred, and also the Monitor. I have fought them against one another using UBF/SSN. Virginia shoots with some punch but is very hard to maneuver against the cheese box on a raft.

Nice job. I like your decks and the finish on the casement. I have a pile of Thoroughbreds – IMO they are the best, though some of the BAYs are pretty nice as well. Haven't tried any PP, but it looks like they have some unique items as well.

Very nicely done, especially the finish on the casemate.

That is one nice ship, pity the cost of buying them from the UK makes them too expensive.

Very nicely done. The only suggestion I might have is to give the flag a bend or two.

Stunning work on the casemate.
