My wife actually defended my spending last week when my son was being a pea-head and trying to get me in trouble. She said something to the effect of "there are lot worse ways to spend it and your dad doesn't spend that much" Of course I didn't bother to correct him when my son's estimate of what I spent was about half of the actual figure. :)

Never. My wife not only accepts my gaming addiction he *buys* me stuff!

I've found myself in the other roll lately… arranging walks that avoid the kids catching sight of the toy store.

Never. The last time I saw a wargames shop I was still at school!

My Wife encourages my gaming. Sees it as much less expensive than collecting cars, or many other manly pursuits.

My wife rolls her eyes ay my purchases, but tolerates it.

I am with Peterx – my wife tolerates my minis but over the past few years she has actually started buying me minis for my birthday – surprised me last year with a great gift, painted Napoleonic houses

Herself understands my hobbies,as I explain 'em to her.

Thorfin1117 Sep 2013 7:07 a.m. PST

Yes, I am at the tolerated but not encouraged level.

It mostly works for me but there is the odd time when I am peeved that although she will ask me what I want for a present, she won't even consider getting me anything hobby related.

Khusrau17 Sep 2013 7:51 a.m. PST

Tolerated, but not encouraged.. she doesn't buy me stuff, but would never say anything about me buying stuff.. although in all fairness, up till now, I haven't come home with a $1,000 USD dollars worth in one go.

It's still cheaper, less fights and less penicillin than hanging round cheap bars..

Nearly every Saturday my wife sends me off to the fgs.

Nearly every Saturday? Hmmm…I would leave for the fgs as usual, then come back 10 minutes later as if you forgot something….And buy a shotgun! ;)
