I hope a couple of them will be modelled with the couple of Bren Guns they managed to 'acquire', despite being told they wouldn't need them…

McWong7313 Sep 2013 2:56 p.m. PST

There is a whole world of unique sculpts one could do.

McWong7313 Sep 2013 3:00 p.m. PST

Only CMF??? You going to do minis of the 45th chucking their weapons away and running?

Why no AIF? Not sure they used identical kit.

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures13 Sep 2013 3:43 p.m. PST

There is a Bren Team.

Several of the packs suit AIF.

Mathew

Pack 3 of the 28mm WWII Australian Militia project has now been opened.

This is great news and due to some well above expected contributions by a few who believe in this range.

I hope more will get involved and see this range available by the set time frame as well as taking advantage of some great offers!

I am very happy to say that Pack 5 is now opened!

This is great news and this 5th pack helped in a large part by a very generous contribution (the 2nd from this person).

I feel that we are now in a position to discuss further packs namely NCO's (3 figures), Vickers MMG and Medium Mortar (while not used much in the early stages of Kokoda due to weight/encumbrance).

I also had a suggestion for Boyes ATR and Sticky Bomb pack (3 figures) who if in Khaki would suit early desert and allow players to field complete forces for their gaming (Sticky bombs were also used in Milne Bay and Wau).

The NCO pack I consider essential and as mentioned, while not strictly Kokoda the last 3 packs certainly allow you to round off your collection.

So please post your suggestions for the further packs including look, pose etc and we can add these to the list.

P.S I will have some pics of the 2nd officer figure in the next couple of days as well and the masters for the SMLE and Lewis shortly which when moulded/cast will move things along more noticeably.

Hey All
Very happy to say the next batch of WWII Australians are ready. That makes 7 packs now which are up on the website and ready to order. At this stage I won't be running another crowd funder to finish the range off (Vickers, Mortar Crew, 2inch Mortar + Crew + a couple of others) but will use all funds from the sale of the initial 7 sets to get them done. So please jump on board to help me finish the range.

Great Work Mathew. I cannot wait for the molds to start spinning them up for you. A very cool range indeed!

MathewatWarTimeMiniatures05 Oct 2014 4:46 a.m. PST

Hey All

Thanks to those who made a visit to WarTime Miniatures during MOAB. In particular thanks to those who picked up some packs of the Australians. I spoke with the sculptor this morning and he was wrapped about the positive feedback the figures have received.

So it was great today to commission the rest of the range which will be: Vickers MMG + Crew, 2 Inch Mortar + 2 Crew, 3 Inch Mortar + 3 Crew, Sniper and FO team who I asked to be based around Coast Watchers. Finally I have also added a medical set of a Local Carrier assisting a wounded digger and a Medic along side.

As a final touch, I know a 25 Pdr was dragged up into the range to assist the Australians as they pushed the japs back from Kokoda. So I will also look to commission a 25 Pdr + Crew to finish it off.
