Ive made comparison with photos of PSC and FOW plastic infantry – straight from the box.

For anyone not wanting to go to my blog:
Summary:
They are almost perfect match in size. But FOW guys are a little fatter and has added bulk from much .large equipment and larger weapons. Naked these guys would be almost indistinguishable :)

As to quality FOW wins.
If you want a platoon – get FOW, but If you want a company, simplicity and price of PSC in unbeatable.

I only have about 60 stands of Russian infantry. grin
With Rising Sun, that's only 2 companies.
The next time I am at a con, I intend to pick up a box of PSC.

Thanks for sharing your pics, and review.

So, if I have it right, the FOW guys are the gray figs?

I do like the gray sculpts a bit better, and many of them are superb. The poses are very well done.

Sadly, the variable quality and shapes of the German helmets is about the only downside I see, other than their non-availability of being for sale, separately. Still, good to see their figure sculpting quality is improving a bit.

I like the fabric covered helmets, since those look to be about the right size, and shape.

Sadly, some of the plain helmets look more like deep pots (5th, 8th, 9th, and 10th pics), a WWII style American helmet (6th pic), and/or an Afrika Korps tropical helmet (7th pic, showing three man comparison), on some of the figs.

I think they should sculpt one decent helmet, and then cast it up to use for all of the figs, for consistency, when creating others.

Perhaps they'll consider that with their next batch of sculpts.

The PSC figs look decent. A shame there aren't more poses. Still, they appear to be very useful for creating larger units, on a budget.

Silly me, I suck as a reviewer..;(

Yes Darker miniatures are from FOW Open fire.

As to Helmets. When you talking about them, yes its quite hard to distinguish Germans from Americans on the sprue.

Not perfect but still one of best if not the best quality in 15mm infantry I saw.

I wonder ho they are made.
If they are sculpted virtually it should be doable from the scratch without any problems a tall but they bear no normal sign of 3d sculpted infantry (everyone on the sprue is different, no exact copies). So I am puzzled how they did them.

I don't now if its just the photography or the colour of the plastic but the FoW stuff looks much more 3 dimensional. The PSC figures look a bit flat.

Yeah the BF helmets suck mightily – but then again the grenade throwing pose in the SC is one of their weakest sculpts. The arm is just plain wrong.

Yes they are much thinner, but realistic proportioned.

The reason they look as flats on the photos is strange opalescence of the material they are made of.
