Just loaded up part 3 of our Simple Campaign for France with a battle between the French and an invading Austrian army.

The French were made up primarily of Young Guard reinforced by elements of the Middle and Old Guard.

Austrians were a standard Infantry Corps of 2 line divisions and a light division or advance guard along with a few more light brigades attached and a reserve Grenadier Division attached.

Interesting, go French!

I would have thought those Young Guardsmen in closed columns would have fared better against the hussars, even in 1814.

Interesting game and campaign concept. I look forward to the next posting.

Yes they should have been safe in their nice closed columns but luckily the French commander threw really back dice and rolled for the regiments instead of per battalion. 2 bad rolls and 4 battalions were caught out of square. Then my really good roll for combat meant they were routed.

Beautiful looking game. Are the guns one per battery?

WarDepotDavid15 Sep 2013 6:25 p.m. PST

1 gun model per 3 or 4 guns with the number of crew repsenting the number of guns.
