auction L6.4 cm x W4.4 cm x H 3 cm. Perhaps with some styrene accents added? Thoughts? Thanks, Dan |

You can mask parts of them, then spray paint them to get a finished building with windows. |

My two issues are these are too small (about 2.25"x1"x1") to really justify having true interiors and clear plastic like this is always brittle, so breakage could be an issue if they're not reinforced with styrene. |

Seems like they would do fine as some type of shipping container rather than a habitable building. |

Cut and glue poster board, or mat board to the exterior. That way, they have a bit of cushioning, you get your clear, recessed windows, etc. We used to do this all the time in model building class, but we used plexiglass instead, as the frame of the buildings. Works great, but a little time consuming. Given the small size, seems like it would make for good one to two person, personal habitats, in a world where resources are pressed to the brink, and costs for homes/apartments are high. Would also work for colonies on other worlds too, where these have to be transported vast distances, and space is at a premium. The little micro-hotels in Japan are much smaller, being about the size of a single bed, and stacked on top of one another. There is more space for common areas, when people aren't sleeping in their "pods". Seems to me, they need to do a bit more on sound proofing those, to make them habitable. |

Would be great for a 5th element style apartment. |

Instant off-world container shanties, with two "Murphy" cots (that fold into the wall) and a couple of lockers. Some solar panels on top, and a small moisture "extractor" (I think that's what they are called), to get water out of the air. That's it. Being small, the containers are easy to heat when the weather gets cold. The rest outdoors, if you happen to have anything else that is, as long as you can chain it down to something or bolt it to the container home itself. ZOE: The border worlds -- just like the central planets, they're as close to Earth-That-Was as we could make 'em: atmosphere, gravity and such, but
MAL: Once they're terraformed, they'll dump settlers on there with nothing but blankets and hatchets and maybe a herd. Some of them make it, some of them

Suppose the transport ship itself is designed to be disassembled and used for shelter at the destination. Cabins and bulkheads become houses and larger buildings; life-support systems provide fresh water; the ship's engine becomes the colony's fusion plant; sick bay becomes the local clinic; etc. |

By the way, adding a mask to the outside of it is a splended idea, Mako! |

And, Dan, just like a container home, you can link them together to form larger structures accordingly:

Leland, Fantastic! Looks a lot like what was done at Forthaven (from the BBC show Outcasts), or even the geologist camp in Pitch Black. TMP link link TMP link Except that Forthaven had a lot of concrete supports around and in between many of their container "rooms":
