Has anyone or does anyone use the scenarios from the old AH Panzer Leader/Panzer Blitz boardgames in their gaming?

I use them as the basis for FFoT games. The Arab Israeli Wars game as well.

I have quite a few of them including the ones from the free Panzer Blitz miniatures game that was out a few years ago. Robert

Well, not per se, but I do use scenarios in other games for my PL/PB/AWI games…

I would think that they would be good for some ready scenarios to game. Robert

Years ago our group played a Panzer Blitz scenario adapted to Spearhead, and an Arab-Israeli War scenario adapted to Command Decision II. Worked quite well in both cases.

Do the Panzer Blitz ones work better then the Panzer Leader ones? Or are they both the same? Robert

We use them all the time.

There are quite a few sites out there with more then what came originally with the games. So the option on what kinds of scenarios you could use should be pretty large. Rbert

Both PB and PL work well. They're also great for GM'd games with hidden movement since it's easy for both sides to plot locations and movement, and just use the boardgame movement rates for map moves.

I hadn't thought of that miniMo. Yes It would be easy.Oh. And the reason I asked is because I just downloaded Avalon Hill's Panzer Leader Player's Guide – The Boardgamer from Wargame Vault. It has a bunch of scenarios I didn't have. Robert

The best PB/PL site I've seen is this:

Yup. I have downloaded everything there I could :). I mentioned it in another thread on mapboards. Robert

I thought the mapboards would be very useful too

I converted a load of PB/PL scenarios for Talonsosfts old Eastern Front/Western Front computergames.

I have to say that although I greatly enjoyed playing PB/PL back in the day, the scenarios leave a great deal to be desired in terms of historical accuracy. (terrain, unit density, OBs etc). Some are better than others of course, and some are just interesting tactical challenges.

Thanks all for your posts and views. I would agree with you Martin. I would assume that that differed quite a bit on who designed the scenario. Still all in all IMO they would come in handy as ready made to game with. Robert

Has anyone used the scenarios from the Steel Panthers PC game too?I especially like the fictional and "What If?" ones. Robert

Some of my favourite PL/PB scenarios were the long, thin board ones, but it is had to see how to translate them into minis games as movement rates for minis rules are typically not the same as gun range every turn:) (or double gun range down a road).

I have attempted to write some more fuild minis rules along the lines of PB but they never seem to work on the tabletop.
