I guess the whatever happened that "…we don't talk about…" that Worf referred to happened a whole lot earlier in this Star Trek universe.

And didn't exactly follow the same path.

You know, the Klingons as a race, and Khan and his crew, predate the split in the timeline. So in this new reality they should not be any different. Anything established prior to the arrival of that Romulan ship should remain unchanged. Not a very well thought out re-imagining. He must have had lens flares in his eyes distracting him when he was plotting the movies.

You are assuming that the follow one movies were plotted at all.

Somehow the first Klingons from the original show appeal to me more, guys painted green in B grade 1960 TV just sounds like more fun than well.. Aliens that look like hi-tech armadillos needing lots of CGI and green screen visuals covering lame story lines, The big G stories were quite original and fun not a blow off of bad modern sci-fi TV.
Note there have been some good modern Sci fi but also a lot of bad.
Just think these klingons are too alien from the original Star Trek feel they don't come across as jocks full of testosterone but more shady and sinister creeps. Just my shake on it all.
BTW these guys would look good for some other project and would make great miniatures. cheers

Well, at least I now know what they looked like. :)

Between shaky-cam(TM) and Lens-flare cam (TM) I didn't see nearly enough of either ST movie.

I lament the days when we could actually SEE what was on screen.

Now it is all either shaky, flared, or dark.

So, they are like Pangolins?

Makes a change . . .

I haven't seen the newest ST movie, but I did see the first of the Abrams's trek movie. While I agree they're good action movies, they don't feel very much like ST to me. IMHO they some of the 'look and feel' of later trek movies and shows, but none of the substance. This image just seems to confirm they're not placing great emphasis on the 'look and feel.'

They need massive chainsaws and rending talons…
