For some reason I hadn't been able to find a good match for gull grey for ages and then all of a sudden Vallejo deck Tan popped up as a match so I have been refreshing some of my USN aircraft.

First up is an F-4 of. VF-21 n early 1965

Just started on some A-4 sky hawks and a new TD order is it on its way. Really happy with the brightness and that the coloured decals have a better appearance

Very nice!

Looks like a good match to me.

I'll have to gove that a go, thanks.

I really like the way the cockpits are done.

Are those custom-made decals for the tail and below the cockpit?

With the exception of the stars n bars they r all home made to fit the moulding

That looks great, a really great effort for 3mm planes. The home made decals are great, very impressed by those. I struggle to get 6mm to look that good.

Excellent, thanks!

VF-151 has had some love as well. These were the first USN aircraft I ever painted way back and were sorely in need of rework

Incorrect BuNos due printer problem and no model but good enough to game with

I do find your idea of a sub-standard job hilarious…. ;-)

These are the new ones. I didn't have any before shots but they were definitely the poor relations. The refresh really means bringing them up to the standard of the 1972 phantoms and corsairs. The new paint really makes a difference. But yes obsessive compulsive runs strong in my family ;)
