Yet another Peter Sides scenario replay to test homegrown rules. This time it is Crocus Field. I am getting close to the end of the hoplite battles.

The link to the report is here:

Hi! Shaun. Another interesting game and AAR. The dice roll with the cavalry did you no favours but that is part of the fun isn't it? Do you know where copies of Peter Sides works might be picked up?

The only two places I know of, and I checked just now, is

Cavalier Books: caliverbooks.com

(just search for Peter Sides)

and
On Military Matters:

(the books are listed alphabetically so go to the S's)

At On Military Matters, it looks like Volume 2 has the title as vol 1, but the description is for volume 2.

Otherwise, it looks like the second hand market book dealers have it starting at around 60 dollars!

Good write-up, as always. Still using your rules when I have time. I ran a big game on a 2x4 game board of gauls vs republican romans. javelins can be nasty, is all I have to say about that one.
I'm going to try some dark ages stuff with ABC, when time permits. I like your rules for shieldwalls. very clever.

Great to see that you are still using the rules. I have become a bit focussed on getting them fairly stable and will be doing as much playtesting as I can over the next 6 months or so. It does mean I am likely to break out of chronologically playing the Peter Sides scenarios and moving around the ages to see how they go. Hastings I hope to do in the next few months but I have some Carolingian Franks that are itching for an outing. But that is just the plan. It may not survive real life!
