Just painted 15mm Glyptodon – the giant armadillo of Pleistocene epoch. Like in my previous post I included Merc from Laserburn range for size comparison. With its rounded, bony shell and squat limbs, Glyptodon superficially resembled turtles, and the much earlier dinosaurian ankylosaur, as an example of the convergent evolution of unrelated lineages into similar forms.
Glyptodon is 30mm long and he is really nice figure. He is available from Mick Yarrow Miniatures Ice Age range here: linkhe is suitable for Stone Age gaming and also for VSF, Pulp and even Sci-Fi (if you want a planet filled filled with prehistoric creatures) |

Nice. Good use of the laserburn figure as a hunter too. |

How could you not want a planet filled filled with prehistoric creatures? |

From the same Wiki entry: "It was roughly the same size and weight as a Volkswagen Beetle, though flatter in shape." Though, from the piccies, not a heck of a lot flatter. So, if that's a 15mm trooper next to it, I think that's an immature Glypt. ;->= Doug |

Wasn't there something like this on Star Trek or some similar show? |

Nice model. I've been wanting to play Lost Lands lately. Time to break out the prehistoric miniatures. |

It would be spot on for 10mm though! |
