One of my favourite rule writers produced a free and massive detailed FOW Intelligence briefing on the Vietnam war covering the USMC, US Army, Australians, New Zealanders, ROK, ARVN, VC and NVA. The intel brief includes chopper and jet rules, armour, artillery, snipers, jungle movement and engineer options. All weapons stats are there. Of course you still need the original and great FOW rulebook. The intel briefing was available on yahoo but I am not sure if it is still there.

I have not used these rules yet but I will one day when I get around to painting some troops.

If anyone wants a copy, leave your e-mail address on this topic and I will forward them onto you.

I have cut and paste an example of an Australian Infantry company. I hope it turns out OK.

1 Infantry Company HQ
Company Leader has Command Net. This consists of 2 Command teams:
1 Command Rifle/MG team
1 2IC Rifle/MG team
HQ – 50 points
(optional) add M113 transport – 20 points

2-3 Infantry Platoons
Platoon Leader has Command Net. Each platoon consists of:
1 Command Rifle/MG team
3 Rifle sections, each 3 Rifle/MG teams
Cost at full strength – 200 points
Cost with 2 Rifle sections – 140 points
(optional) Upgrade all Rifle/MG teams to MG teams with extra M60s – 5 points each
(optional) add M113 transports – 20 points each

It did not turn out but you get the idea. Graphics are the same as the FOW rulebooks.

I have an int. briefing for modern FOW lying around which includes modern-day troops ca.1980 to 2000. In fact, now that I think of it, it includes some really new stuff too, so you could play GW2 with it with only a few mods. The author is Scott Elaurant, I think... I got it off the FOW Yahoo group.

As the guy running the group currently working on the rules (not connected with Scott Elaurant, but with his permission), I must say it's nice to hear FOW Modern being discussed here. If you want to contribute or get the latest edition of the lists, go to the following site:

Also, just to let you know, next month the project will be moved to modernfow.com .

Hi everyone, just to let you know, the Modern FOW website is now available. You can view it at modernfow.com – if you have any suggestions to make, please check out the forum that is linked from the site.

I ran a Goose Green(solo) game a year or so ago using FOW rules. It worked quite well using the night fighting rules.

My Argentines were QRF Korean War Americans, and my Brits were QRF modern British paratroopers.

Incidently what kind of systems do people run your stuff with? CWC seems a bit simplistic for 15mm scale, Force on Force seems to be the most wide spread modern ruleset in that range these days.
