I've finished the 54mm All the King's Men Napoleonic Cuirassier and am working on the basing. These figures are just way cool. I'm looking forward to getting 54mm Napoleonics on the game table. To Clay….yes….it would have looked better if I had taken more time on painting it. LOL

I agree with you: Polyshades Royal Walnut is just right, for The Dip technique (nearly everyone, these days, brushes it on, rather than dunking -- waaay too heavy, puddles horribly, a mess to clean up the figure before it cures), just the right shade of brown (looks better, IMO, than straight black/Tudor). Mighty fine painting, Tex! Cheers!

Have you tries the "Helmet" figures? they are the same sort of thing as Historex only cheaper.

Bright uniforms or light colored (khaki, white, etc.) always look better with lighter shades of The Dip IMO. The darker stuff is great for medievals or ancients. Never thought it looked good on whites, reds, light blues, yellows, etc.

Thanks for the compliments! I'm stoked to get this project going and finished. Other than Ebay, where can I get 12 Airfix Heavy Dragoons, 12 Airfix French Hussars, 12 Airfix Lanciers? Anyone have any of these kits in your closet? Wanna' part with them? I've got cash!

Not sure on the French hussar – I recall it being a British hussar/light dragoon. eBay is good but prices can get silly IMHO

I think I have an Airfix 54mm French Cuirassier in a drawer in the garage, part built but probably mostly complete. I spotted the horse just the other day. I'd need to check what was there due to everything getting jumbled during a move a few years ago, but there's a good chance its complete. I may be tempted to sell the kit on if someone is needing it.
