I have several of the Bolt Action MG 42 tripods to assemble. The tripod comes separate from the MG, but apparently needs to be cut apart and assembled.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do this. I know what a "real life" tripod looks like, but how to configure this model tripod eludes me.

I've tried contacting Warlord/Bolt Action, but with no reply. There does not seem to be any direction available.

Any help appreciated.

This might help some – as it shows how it is set up and you might figure out the parts/placement from there!

Thanks. The image is helpful, but I still can figure out how to "cut the parts" from the single casting of the tripod model.

If the legs and mount were already separate, I am pretty sure I could figure out, especially with the image you provided

Kinda retarded that they don't provide an directions, at least not that I could find.

Any more help appreciated.

Do you have a picture of the sprue? Maybe we could puzzle it out from that.

I can take on from my iphone. Can I post an image from my phone here?

It has to be hosted somewhere. You might try imgur.com

Gawd…How the hell do you post an image correctly????

Every time I go to post an image, it just posts the link.

Well, anyway, the links work.

The images show the tripod and the machine gun. Again, any help on how the hell to configure the tripod would be appreciated.

But I'm not sure what the bits are…

I was going to tell you how I did mine, but I think they have changed it since I got mine, because mine never looked like that. I had the same problem figuring out how things needed to be bent and shaped. Sorry I can't be more help, but good luck with it.

The images show the machine gun and the tripod. The tripod, I think, needs to be "cut apart" some how, but I, obviously, can't figure it out.

and how come fred could post the image, but I can't???

I need a Rusty Nail

Just googled 'Bolt Action MG42' and looked at the images and it seems you are missing the front leg… You don't need to cut off anything as that is just the rear assembly and the gun you have :)

Mr Canuck13 Aug 2013 12:50 p.m. PST

I think the two "outside" arms are the Back legs of the tripod. Call the top arm "5" and the bottom arm "1"

The very middle arm and the square with the hole look like the Front leg of the tripod. Call this arm "3."

I would say arms "2" and "4" are just "sprue" that's part of the casting process – to hold the pieces in place.

Once cut apart, the "hole" bit on arm "3" gets glued to the front of the other piece where the downward "pin" is located.

That's it!! Wasn't missing the front leg, but…

I just needed to bend the rear legs down a bit and finagel the trigger thingy at the rear of the machine gun.

Awesome…thanks for all the help.

Now..why when I post an "image", it just post the link?? I never get the actual image in my post?

I think that second link is spot on. No missing bits and no need to cut.

The link has to have either .jpeg or .img on the end so that TMP recognizes it as an image. Otherwise it will just show a link.
