My wife and I recently went on a cruise to the Baltic ( link ), and whilst we were there we visited quite a few sites of military historical interest … and I have just completed the blo entries about each of them.

The first we visited was the Kristiansand cannon Museum in southern Norway ( link )

We then visit Gydnia, Poland, where we saw the World War II destroyer, Byskawica ( link )

Our next port-of-call was St Peterburg, Russia, where we visited the cruiser Aurora ( link )

We also visited the Artillery Museum, and because of the shere numbers of photographs I took, I have split this into several separate blog entries:

1. The Armour Collection ( link )
2. Artillery up to 1860 ( link )
3. The model of the Battle of Borodino ( link )
4. The Great Patriotic War ( link )
5. The Kalashnikov Exhibit ( link )
6. Post-war Weaponry ( link )

I think that there is plenty there to interest most wargamers … so read and enjoy!

I'm sure I would have had a great time but what did your wife think of all the military stops?

79thPA,

My wife is very understanding … especially as we also visited at least one Pandora jewellery store in most of the places we visited.

(My wife has five Pandora bracelets, one of which has beads that have been bought in each place we visit.)

Looks like a wonderful trip, and the museum visits must have been great!
