The links don't appear to work? You can't put photos directly into TMP posts. You have to link them from some other web site. |

So, you're not Donald? What have you done with Donald? Return Donald to us this instant! Else I shall raise an Army and come against you. Nice photos, by the way. |

Thanks for the nice comments @ Doug. No battle report but a few highlights. We used Field of Glory rules. There are 4 of us. We played a complete game each day of the show in a leisurely fashion, often stopping to talk to the passers-by. Both games resulted in NKE victories. The Egyptians had a Hit & Run army & used appropriate tactics. Their enemies (labelled 'Sea Peoples) were the Mycenaeans (essentially a slow-moving close combat army) & Hittites (a balanced combination of the two styles). As always with FoG, effective movement & deployment will win the battle & the NKE managed to gain the high ground in the middle of the battlefield, gaining 'uphill superiority in melee. The Egyptian 'arrow storms' usually meant the Sea Peoples superior infantry had dropped in morale & even lost bases before achieving impact.
Sea battles aren't part of the rules so we used variable movement for the boats (2 MUs & single dice throw), Battlewagon combat factors & ultimately the usual infantry battle rules when two ships were in contact. Highlight of the game for me was when my Trojan Horse* (Dardanian Light Cavalry), attacked and destroyed a NKE Light Chariot Battle Group. FoG are a difficult set to master but worth the effort IMO. @ Robby. No Donald here. Nobody but us chickens. * bad joke, I know |

Well, welcome Mr. Notdonald. Glad to make your acquaintance. Chickens are quite good, especially when fried. Never met a chicken that could paint miniatures before. |

Can you share how you made the water? It appears to have been simple to do, but the results are rather nice. I'm always looking for simple, but effective techniques. Beautiful table, and game, by the way
Cheers! |

@ Sgt Slag A dark blue cloth is first put down then covered with clear plastic that has had its underside carefully sprayed with light blue paint that graduates from thick to mere dots closer to the shore. |

Water is very effective. Where are ships and building from? This a scene I always dreamt of doing in 28mm. Always been fascinated with Sea peoples. |

For those that are interested I have posted details on how the desert terrain mat was made for this layout. In a later post I'll go through how the water was done. link Daniel |
