Dear All, The WollongongGarageGamers tried their hands at Longstreet Lite last night
Executive summary: Great fun, and, what is of interest to an inveterate 28mm bloke like meself, perfectly capable of being played with 28mm figures on a small table. If this much action and fun can be had with the Lite version, bring it on! More here link Apologies for the cross post to the Naps Boards by the way, force of habit from this Napoleonics tragic! |

My gallant Union colleague's Despatch can be found here: link Of course, we can't know yet what he's said to the Washington Newshounds about my performance
. Would you vote for this man:

Nice write ups for both sides. I don't recall any mention of howling the game lasted. Did you have a set of cards for each side? Or just the one deck? Trying to determine if extra card decks will be needed per pair of players. I like the figures as well. Nice looking basing. Matthew |

Hey 45th Division; one deck per player is required, unlike Maurice where the deck is shared by two players. Read an introductory description of the game here: PDF link Basically, each player has his own deck, which in part represents his brigade's stamina in the fight. The commands are really small compared to Johnny Reb or Fire and Fury, so you can have multiple players (with 15mm) on a 4x6 or 4x8 table, and still have room to maneuver. Or as Sparker sez, play with 28mm in grand fashion! |

Thanks Timotheous, I will take a look. Maurice decks were 16 dollars each. I have at least 4 or 5 players besides myself at game days. Maybe there will be a discount for ordering multiple decks? Matthew |

As to how long our game lasted, we were taking our time with it, obviously, but got to a conclusion, through one side reaching break point, after 2.5 hours of leisurely play. |

That sounds good. Just read through the PDF link. I have both sides covered for what he gives as a starting force. 28mm, but I have a 12 x 6 foot table, so I think there will be plenty of space to move troops. Looking forward to the release of the game. Have been for a while now. Thanks everyone who posted AAR. Matthew |

"Would you vote for this man" You think if I had the chance of any power I'd give people the option of voting me into it? ;-) You're just jealous because I look more awesome in your hat than you do :) |

In terms of game times, we were playing with two people on each side, which, oddly enough, slows things down a little. Plus it was a first game, so we were looking stuff up. And we spent a fair amount of time setting up. After setup I reckon we played for just over two hours. We were both part of the way into our second deck when the Confederates broke. |

By the way, you know those fences are all wrong don't you? ;-) |

Well done gentlemen, nice little report of the action. Raglan |

You can download and print out the cards if you need more decks. |

Not quite the same feel. If I am going to buy cards I would like them to feel like professional cards. Plus I think the cards that are free are not the complete set for the print full version of the rules. Matthew |

Very nice report and eye candy. Thanks for sharing. I have my copy on per order. |

Sad that only the folks in Australia can pre order. Sam states that he is not doing preorders on these rules. Matthew |

Hmm – personally I'd rather be able to get them direct from the US without having to pay both GST and the traditional 'Aussie Markup'

You would not believe what shipping costs for a small package these days from the US to Australia. (To anywhere overseas, frankly.) Nobody believes it. I'm tired of answering all those emails complaining about the shipping charges. It's simpler just to let people buy them from their local retailers. The cost comes out better for the customer, and it's much less likely that the package will get mangled by the postman somewhere between my half of the world, and yours. |

Fair enough! Just a question of waiting now, I guess

Sam, just a hint aboput overseas shipping: Tossing the book in a padded envelope and shipping it as "documents" often comes out much cheaper than shipping it in a box as a "package". You might want to give your customers this option, warning them that, of course, there's more likihood of the book being damaged this way. But those of us who live in places like Brazil have no choice at all when it comes to local retailers: it's direct from you or nothing. |
