…Consoling a Woman.

I find shouting "grow up and get over it" in a well intentioned manner to be of little help.

They cry when they are happy, sad, or angery. I don't try to figure them out any more.

It's quite simple. But it took me 10 years to figure it out and I didn't get it till my mid 30's (I'm 65 now).

Women just want you to listen to their problems. They don't want you to solve them. In most cases their problems are not solvable So don't try and fix them, don't give them advice, just hug them and mutter consolingly -"there there"-- "there there" and no matter how "wrong" you think they are always get them to think they are right.

One of the best advices I had heard my friend.!

I may make the occasional sexist joke, usually just for fun to get my wife to shake her fist at me, but the fact is that I don't see much difference on an individual level between the sexes.
People are people.

I have older friends and family members that seem to live with this mental segregation, but most people I know my age and younger don't think like this.

I have 5 younger sister, two daughters, and a wife. I'm not counting my mom in this.

Women are still unfathomable. I've learned that no matter what I say, it will be wrong. So I don't normally say anything, if at all possible. Otherwise, when a response is required, I fish for hints as to the correct answer.

On the positive side, no matter how an argument with the Mrs goes, I always seem to get in the last words. Those words are, invariably, "Yes, Dear".

It's well known and long been a source of comedy that men do not understand women, but some comments were tasteless, not that anything can be seen now, oddly.

Tastless indeed, instead of deleting the responses the whole bloody thread should be nuked, what sort of arseclown starts a thread like this and thinks it wont get out of hand with the mythopoetic men's movement.

The actual problem seems to be with trolls posting snarky comments (I'm not referring to you, but to some of the posters whose comments were removed).

You don't need to understand, you just need to find the right partner and then learn to do as you're told. Works just fine.
Of course if you do find the right partner you escape things like 'I want you to paint the lounge' with things like 'I want you to paint my new ACW limbers…the ones you have n't bought me yet.'

Hey Ditto I was the one making "misogynistic" comments. Maybe what I said was insensitive, I'm not a real sensitive kinda guy, blame it on the culture I was raised in and worked in all my life, but I suppose I'll take everyones feelings into consideration from here on out…
