So no external AA Heavy MG for the T72 … that is unfortunate. I was also wanting the early ERA.

Nope.. Unfortunately nothing like that.. ;(

khurasanminiatures05 Aug 2013 4:50 p.m. PST

The bad news for me is my 1/100 scale BTR-80 has been at the casters for four or five months waiting to be cast, and now this plastic kit is available. frown

The good news for me is I think my resin and pewter BTR is nicer than this kit and will be about the same price. grin

OctaChaz05 Aug 2013 5:21 p.m. PST

Is there anywhere to get these in the UK?

Mako1105 Aug 2013 5:35 p.m. PST

That is unfortunate.

Perhaps you should switch to producing Cold War, West German armor, instead.

I'd love to see the Leopard 1, Leopard 1A5, Jagdpanzer Kanone, and others produced by you in 1/100th scale, amongst other American, British, West German, and Soviet armor, and troops.

khurasanminiatures05 Aug 2013 6:36 p.m. PST

Why, because one vehicle got held up at the casters? It's annoying but doesn't require a complete change of direction.

Not looking to make the old cold warriors unless they were engaged in battles during the period (for instance all the vehicles I'm having made for the YKW). If you're interested in undertaking it yourself I can see if I can get it done for you. Figure $600 USD per vehicle.

Hmmmmm….. I am a bit underwhelmed considering their cost. Love to see them painted up though

Sparker05 Aug 2013 7:05 p.m. PST

Oh my! – WW3 just got affordable!

bruntonboy05 Aug 2013 8:11 p.m. PST

These models are much more expensive than Zvezda's WW2 ones. About the same as metal.

Paragonicnova05 Aug 2013 9:23 p.m. PST

I guess the demand for 15mm modern is much smaller than 15mm WW2

hence the price

AWuuuu06 Aug 2013 2:08 a.m. PST

Price rise is too steep..

If they cost 1,5 as much as WWII I wouldn't say a word.
If they would cost twice as much, I would say, well thats a lot more but Ok, but at twice and half the cost they are getting pricey..

Khurasan – I hope your BTR will be higher :>
I like my BTRs high..
Always when i see one its towering above me..

Armiesarmy06 Aug 2013 2:24 a.m. PST

I ordered a few from the PSC a while back. Im hoping they should be with me soon.

John Treadaway06 Aug 2013 2:49 a.m. PST

I'm not bothered what they are made of relative to their cost (I have no perceived 'plastic must/should be cheaper coz it costs less' issues: I really don't care).

What I do care about is whether the price is a good one for the product as a 'thing' that I might want to buy and how easy it is to assemble, clean and paint (and – as kyoteblue said – plastic is far easier and safer to kit bash than metal or resin). That's the bit that interests me far more than whether I could buy 10 plastic kit Shermans in 15mm as opposed to only 5 T70s. Especially if I only wanted 5. And they had to be T70s…

If they are the kits I want, at the price I'd be prepared to pay for metal/resin, and the detail is up to snuff (lack of external MGs seems problematic but the rest seems ok) then it's just another cool choice, from my perspective.

If they are accurate 1/100th (and I have no reason to believe they are not) they will probably set a bit of a bench mark for size and shape – as plastic kits often (traditionally) tend to. Change in the ERA from the box lid is a bit of a puzzler, mind you…

All good stuff, though, and – in my opinion – them being more expensive than their WW2 compatriots just speaks volumes about how few people play 'ultra modern' in this scale rather than any particular attempt to gouge, I would say.

..if we take on account I can get these from my local hobby store (unlike most of the metal-manufacturers) and without those ridiculous USPS-costs (Hell, propably largest postal service in the world(?), and still expensive as hell when shipping to europe!), I will propably get few of those for my ultra-modern motorised riflemen.

A friend of mine allready got his ones, and they sure did look like nice, much higher quality kit than any of those in WW2 range (or at least any of those I own, allthough the BA-10 is a nice try, and Im really waiting for that T-35!).

Kinda sad that both MBTs lacked the HMG from the cupola, I sure can uparm abe with PPs gunner & headswap, but where the hell Im supposed to get 15mm NSV? :D Neverthless, I shall grab at least one Tango-seven Bravo-Mike and see how easily I can remove the K-5 and make it "casual" Bravo. It looks good, at least from the pics.

But good news, their FB-site said that the BMP is on the way. From the box-art of motorised infantry I would say its going to be BMP-1 w Sagger, eventhough BMP-2 would be IMO more logical, but we shall see. Also, whats with the price? In tPSC store they were ranked as being 6,5£, but little birds (no, not AH-6) sang that here in finland theyre going to be around 6€, and in russia the price was around 4,5€ in local.

Hope they would also do modern trucks in plastic.

MK90 Edit: Oh, there is assembly vids on their webpage: hotwar1990.com/news/10/

mwnciboo06 Aug 2013 10:08 a.m. PST

Hmmm…I ordered one of each from Will at PSC so I could do a Review on my Blog.

Pretty underwhelmed.

Oh and Anyone wanting West German Armour in 15mm, QRF Leopard 2 is friggin Epic. It's probably the best looking 15mm Tank I've ever seen.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa06 Aug 2013 12:57 p.m. PST

Shame about the price point as I was otherwise seriously tempted. Still nice looking models short comings aside.

MaahisKuningas9015 Aug 2013 3:00 a.m. PST

Sorry to be a bit of a necro, but must post this – my local modelshop just announced that my order has arrived and is ready to be delivered (well, that aint much of a news), but the thing that caught my eye:

4,5€/each.

Must be one hell of a platinum-consuming jet flown by quad-heades MD.& lawyer superman which takes them to UK in bunches of 10.. :F

AWuuuu01 Jun 2016 10:13 a.m. PST

Modern Zvezda kits (and some larger WWII) are priced like twice their WWII models unfortunately :(

McWong7307 Jun 2016 3:44 a.m. PST

Supposedly those kits use a higher quality plastic…whatever that means…
