I was wondering if there are any companies out there that produce & sell 10mm plastics? I see more & more 15mm & 28mm plastic figs from many companies on the market so was wondering when 10mm will start up. I know that GW box gave of The Battle of the Five Armies had plastic figs, but surely there are others out that I might not know about. Hope some one knows of others?

As far as I know of, there are none other than the ones you mentioned. I beleive the reason is that since 10mm is such a small market, making figures in plastic is not worth extra cost, because most 10mm vendors are not massive operations.

There were several series of tanks produced by Takara and Dragon (and possibly others) that were in 1/144 which is close enough to 10mm in my book. These are some very nice vehicles – unfortunately their production focused mainly on German tanks.

I have a feeling that there is a company producing pre-painted ACW in 10mm, and I think these are plastic figures – but they don't look great from the photos I have seen.

As Fred says, there were the 1:144th tanks being produced by a few companies, but production has either slowed or stopped entirely on those I think.

The ACW figures were by Gordon and Hague, pre-painted as mentioned above. There were some pics of them on TMP somewhere.

Other than those, there's nothing else I can think of. The costs are the main problem as Mr Chipmunk says, 10mm isn't a big enough market for the tooling costs involved in plastic figures. It's circa £5.00 GBP-10k per tool I believe, which is a lot of sales needed to recoup the outlay, especially when we're already selling full metal armies at only £25.00 GBP…!

Are you looking specifically for fantasy figures? I know that the old Lord of the Rings Risk game has a variety of figures that would pass for 10mm fantasy. For that matter the figures offered with various versions of Risk would work for 10mm in either Napoleonic or Seven Years War. Not much variety but they can often be had at thrift stores or yard sales for a dollar or two.

To add to what Fred and Leon said: When those 1/144th vehicles came out, we were producing Minifigs N scale WWII and had just started doing moderns. I had a couple of customers call me and predict our demise due to their cheapness. (Walmart was selling them for about $3.00 USD each at the time.) As it happened, our sales went up! Not for what the plastics that came out, (Shermans, Tigers, panthers, etc.) but we saw a huge bump in infantry, and all the other items! Our N scale and 10mm sales, along with 15mm Naps, were our biggest sellers until I left for Germany! We had just started to release about 30 WWI numbers when I left and had masters for siege equipment for medievals to boot.

The cost to them in plastic for a manufacturer is prohibitive for a manufacturer that does not have a huge inroad with plastic distributors across the world! You need to sell them by the dozens of cases in order to keep growing the line.

The Caliver/Minifigs 12mm Nylon 3D Printed vehicles are very nice and have similar detail to plastic [and are very robust].

I suspect that this may be the future route for well detailed 10/12mm.

Baccus are also displaying 3D printed 8mm at present [first public showing at Claymore].

Not see any photo yet but an interesting idea

Interesting. I did not know that Caliver/Minifigs are offering Nylon 3D Printed vehicles. Still, that is not injection molded plastic products, which, I believe , is what the original poster was referring to. (Well, cheap seemed to be his goal.)

So have you seen any of the Minifigs 3d Nylon items? How are they? Do they take paint well? How are they priced. Am curious.

Thanks!
