I like to use data cards for units. So for example in a WW2 game I would have a data card for an infantry unit giving me range, shots, moral etc etc anything that is relevant to that unit in that rule set. I use hand written postcards at the moment, but would like, if possible, to do all this on my tablet.
So during a game, I wish to fire my unit of infantry, I tap on the unit in the app, see what their range is, how many shots they get. hit the roll dice button and see what damage I do. tap the enemy unit and deduct the amount of hits. If I am shot at I can deduct the hits from my unit so I know next time I have 7 shots, etc. A moral value, if needed, can be kept with each unit.etc etc.

Do any such apps exist for Android?

I am hoping to find something for Blitzkrieg Commander, Bolt Action and soon to be released Chain Of Command. It would be great if this could be extend to other periods such as ACW, ECW etc.

Hopefully whole army lists can be kept on file and just added to the app at the click of a button for a particular game.

Am I seeking the impossible?

That's a good description of what the computer-assist wargame programs I and others have been writing since the early 1980's do.

I haven't written any such programs for Android yet, but I have gotten my old programs to run under DOSBox running on my Android smart phone.

A bunch of my old programs are available in the freebie download sections of my web site:

As generic as you want, a spreadsheet app sounds like what you need.

Bsttlescribe ( battlescribe.net )would assist in the creation of an army list, and I have seen a module for Bolt Action using it. I do not think it has an ability to roll dice and track damage during a game, but I have not used it much.

TMJ, I have downloaded one link, but get error message, Windows does not recognaise the program this was made with. So couldn't open it. Sorry.

Tim. Opened this and that was pretty much it, got lost somewhere and don't understand how it works.

Sorry guys I forgot to mention the app must be made for idiots to use,

Mr E, yes, I think that is what I want. I have all my army lists in Excel sheets. I want to be able to cut and paste say an infantry unit, a mortar, a MG team an officer and a tank. That is my fighting force for one side, the data will go with the unit. But for the difficult part, once I remove one figure the ''shots'' will be reduced accordingly, if a unit is destroyed the moral factor maybe effected etc etc.

This is where the problem arises.
