I am planning a game using Musket and Tomahawk that involves an attack on an Indian Village. I have been looking for producers of 28 mm figures that could be used for the villagers but have not found anything. Does anyone know if such figures are out there or, have a suggestion as to other figures that could be used for Native American "civilians"? |

Try the following: 1) Old Glory Native Americans: link – the women and children work just fine IMHO 2) Redoubt Natives: link 3) CP Models – VC12 PLAINS INDIAN GIRL – third from bottom link I have Old Glory and Redoubt and they match up fine. I use the Redoubt natives as old women and teenagers and Old Glory natives as regular women. I use them for my own published rules for War of 1812 (Red Coats and War Hawks) and for FIW (Buckskins and Rangers) both of with I won PELA Awards for at Historicon this year. I will also use them for AWI (the rules will hopefully be released next year) and for my Wild West games. Hope that helps. Regards, Hitman |

Good suggestions, and probably that's every thing you need. Conquest Miniatures produces a set of Iroquois 'ceremonialists' who include an old man chief and a clan matron, all straight from the plates in the relevant Osprey. If your village is Iroquois, you need these figures. I also scrounge select figures from 1/72 plastic sets. The Imex Eastern Friendly Indians set is a gold mine. I use the women for teenage girls. There are also a few young girls and boys on the sprues who work fine in a 28mm village. I also look for bow-armed warriors with long hair and not much clothing or other regalia. These convert easily to young boys playing with bows. The old Airfix/Hat Plains Indians box has a bunch of these, and a couple of women too. |

sfumato as you are playing M&T part or all of your civillians are armed – the hard part is telling them apart from your normal warriors. You could mix in some bow and unarmed with some musket armed – although for game purposes they all count as armed. |

Woman with musket. Woman with bow. Little boy with bow. Old man with stick of firewood as improvised club. Some conversion work required. "We called on them to surrender, but then a woman killed one of our men with an arrow, and it was too late." – David Crockett |
