Taken a while but finally done!

One of the StuGs is actually by Dragon, but the rest are PSC… All crew by AB Figures. Done for Battlegroup Overlord and the forthcoming 'Fall of the Reich' supplement…

How come you never paint any Americans!?! I'd like to see what you'd do with them.

Also, what paint mixture do you use for your dunkelgelb? I really like it.

Those are some great-looking vehicles, Piers!

Just outstanding! Yes, if you don't mind me asking, what do you use for dunklegelb?

Joes Shop Supporting Member of TMP30 Jul 2013 1:44 p.m. PST

Ditto.

Ken…I have already done my Yanks… :)

More pics somewhere on my blog… Around April 2013 I think;

ww20mm.blogspot.ie

More Yankee stuff soon as I need to do some M5s and Half-Tracks.

For Dunkelgelb I use either Tamiya Desert Yellow or Tamiya Yellow-Green. Impreferring the Desert Yellow at the moment (all but one done in that colour) as it looks better after colour modulation with a tan fil and a brown filter.

Next up are a mass of 1945 Russkies…

Just wow. I wish I could figure out the weathering powders etc. These are gorgeous.

Looking good. I like how each of the three Stug IIIG's are different: 2 have Saukopf mantlets, 2 with zimm and one in a simpler two-color scheme.

Katzbalger30 Jul 2013 3:44 p.m. PST

Very nice! Definitely puts my painting to shame.

what airbursh do you use? And do you use tamiya for the camo? what colors? I cant quite get the squiggles down

PiersBrand31 Jul 2013 12:59 a.m. PST

Tamiya Hull Red and Nato Green.

Airbrush is an Aztec.

mysteron31 Jul 2013 1:37 a.m. PST

Those PSC models look fantastic.

If I was Will at PSC I would hire you to paint a single model for all of his ranges to place on the PSC website. I think he would sell lots as a result.

PiersBrand31 Jul 2013 2:24 a.m. PST

Well William does have a few bits by me on the PSC stand as I do a few shows with him…

Nice paint jobs – very neat & tidy.

A slightly strange choice of numbering for the panzer ace "R01" – the regiment's commanding officer – marking him out as a double target!

Great work: thanks for sharing the painting data/info.

Regards,

PiersBrand31 Jul 2013 4:31 a.m. PST

Well Luke, R01 also doubles as my command choice when I take my Forward HQ in a Panther. So the numbering choice does have a reason…

So not so strange really. :)

GROSSMAN31 Jul 2013 4:36 a.m. PST

Nice craft, I like the Stugs myself.

Luke Warm31 Jul 2013 4:37 a.m. PST

I tried that once in BGK – never again – quadruple whammy! ;-)

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP31 Jul 2013 4:54 a.m. PST

Nice looking – good inspiration, I need to paint up the Little Prince's StuGs – just hope I do as well!

mysteron31 Jul 2013 6:29 a.m. PST

In fact for Battlegroup you could use R01 as a red herring .

Just because it says "R01" doesn't mean its being used as the command tank or Ace .

On a similar theme one of my MK4s is numbered R09 which is part of the recce HQ attachment. I am hoping an opponent might think it is my command tank :)

Sometimes you have to think outside the box :D

Stuggies?????????????????????????
You sir need an intervention. I thought you had misspelled stogies, and i came looking for an after the battle cigar.

The only problem is getting a fair evaluation of the base product. You could make a tuna can look like a great panzer with your talent!

Seriously outstanding work and gives us all a standard to strive for.
